Had a great night here, great banter locals made us feel welcome even though landlord is a Charlton fan don't let it put you off. Good music and nothing was too much trouble made us pompey fans feel welcome and no bother at all. Read previous reviews and was nervous but honestly get yourself in there and get involved

I landed there as i could not decide where to have my lunch quite early around 4 a.m. Just for one cider to make up my mind where to go. The little outside area to sit isent the nicest as directly opposite to McDonald's but to watch people it is great. The guests from the pub seems to be hard working people enjoying knocking off time beer(s), still in working cloth. The pub is very nice decorated from the inside and has a great choice of cider and other drings. I recommend 'stowford press' from the tap.
I got directly in contact with a guest at the bar who seems to have had a few beers allready....still very friendly.
In the end my lunch became a stowford press menu.
Left there few hours later, made a new friend, meet a lot of good people and had a very great afternoon~evening.

The Dog and sausages was awesome visit:
friendly waitress and guests, nicely decorated pub and great choice of drings.

If i ever visit Jersey again, i will go there too

Nice little pub in St Helier town centre. Nicely decorated inside, good choice of drinks and friendly staff.

Small outside seating area on the pavement opposite McDonald’s. Unfortunately we got to see an unbelievable amount of kids, just finished school, visiting McDonald’s and leaving their rubbish everywhere.

The Dog and Sausage looked so welcoming from outside, but as we waited at the bar for our drinks we wished we'd bothered to look inside properly before committing ourselves to a beer.
The staff were really polite, but the atmosphere inside was unpleasant and slightly intimidating.
Unsurprisingly, we left after our drinks.

After visiting here back in August, we decided to have a drink on our last night in Jersey this time, as we enjoyed it before. It turned out the landlord and his wonderful family/friends were celebrating the anniversary of his dads passing and we got to raise a glass to his memory (we felt really honoured to join in on this). The atmosphere was brilliant with great music, dancing and lots of love in the air. Thanks for a great night and when we are back (March maybe), we will defo be back.

Me and my wife went here late afternoon on a Saturday. Upon walking in we were greeted instantly by one of the regulars who was clearly suffering with a little bit of small man syndrome. His booming voice and lack of language skills, other than foul, filled the room for the remainder of our visit.

Having said that, the lady behind the bar was very friendly, she was also very keen to ensure that COVID precautions were followed and we signed in here, which was the only place we’d been asked. I took this as positive and we were asked to ensure our masks were on when not seated. The beer was good and well priced but after our ears started to bleed from having to listen to the boom of the guy who thought he owned the place we decided to leave.

We tried again the following day choosing to sit outside as it was a nicer day. We only lasted one pint this time as he appeared again and decided to sit outside.

The pub itself is nice, spoilt on these 2 days by the self
proclaimed king of the Dog & Sausage. When he’s in maybe it should be renames the Cock & Sausage.

I first came to this pub in 1984 so was surprised when visiting Jersey again that it was still there. This time we popped in for some liquid refreshments whilst shopping on a Saturday afternoon. As it was nice weather we took our drinks outside and sat and watched the world go by. It's opposite McDonald's so it's a pretty busy street. It certainly brought back some memories for me.

Nice little pub with good decor and jukebox however, other customers made us feel unwelcome by making loud comments about “tourists” and gave us looks which made us feel uneasy. Staff were lovely
