As we were going to the Maritime Museum we decided to have a look at the Lighthouse memorial. While we were walking along the harbour we also noticed the paving stones showing the wind force gauges.

I was staying in St Helier for a short break, and had a walk around the Harbour. I came across The Lighthouse Memorial, dedicated to The Islanders that had died during the years of Occupation. We will Remember Them.

We stumbled across the Lighthouse Memorial while exploring the quayside of St Helier. The decommissioned lighthouse is a memorial to those Islanders who were deported for breaking the German occupation laws and died in Nazi prisons and camps

Outside the maritime museum. It was nice to see and photograph but not a lot else to say! Nice to sit by it and look at the harbour.

There is something special about this memorial, orginally a small working lighthouse that was situated at the end of St. Catherines Breakwater, and now moved to the quayside outside of the (excellent) Maritime Museum, at the New North Quay. This has recently evoled into a...More
