We happened upon this location and glad we did. It was really an amazing story and site. If ever back in the area we would love to attend mass.

Knock Shrine had a unique atmosphere of warm and peace. Surrounded by people of shared faith knock is a place to be experienced. Knock has a wonderful museum that tells the history of the apparition. A very fine bookshop and many good devotional shops too. Masses throughout the day and confessions and adoration too. The parish church and Bascilica are... More

To walk the grounds where Mary appeared and where Pope John Paul II visited is an awe filled experience. The area is beautiful; even a grey, overcast, misty say did not take away from its beauty. A visit to the bookstore secured finding an "Irish rosary" with a Celtic cross for family who would have loved to come to Ireland... More

The town itself is beautiful. The visit to the wall of the church where the apparition took place was the highlight for us. Very moving, very spiritual experience. It is well worth the time to visit the old cemetery.

The reproduction of the original apparition on the gable wall conveys the message of Knock which was unspoken. It is all about Mary. Flanked by Saint Joseph, patron of the family and Saint John, to whose care she was committed by Jessica on the cross, she beckons towards the lamb on the altar. The lamb of God who died to... More

Taking religion to the max First visit here whilst visiting family living in Ireland. It’s a lovely little village and the church is clean, tidy and well-kept including the gardens. Having visited many different religious sites in many different countries I have to say this one really does take it to the extreme! There is angels and lambs and shrines... More

Interesting place. This is a beautiful area with gorgeous church/shrine as well as being a place considered sacred to the Catholic Church. Our tour group stopped here. Good to see at least once.

Whatever your reason for visiting Knock is; and the Basilica is amazing - don't miss the museum, well worth the short walk over the square to visit!

My first visit to Knock Shrine was soon after my coming to Ireland, 17 years ago. And it seemed a meaningful way to spend Ash Wednesday this year. It was a disappointment and a saddening. That first time, the whole complex was thronged with people. There was Mass every hour, the chapels filled, the atmosphere joyful and of spiritual depth.... More

I have visited Knock Shrine on several occassions. My most recent visit was January 2017. It is a perfect place to visit for some time out from the mad world around us. Peace and tranquillity prevails within the grounds. A perfect spot to meditate and pray. I found the time I spent in the Apparition church in the quite of... More
