We haven’t been in this pub for a number of years but pleasantly surprised when we visited this week.

Still regaining the charm this eatery has expanded somewhat since the last time

Great home cooked food including bacon and cabbage. Wholesome and varied bar menu with super fast service whilst retaining excellent quality

Ideal for a couple of pints, homemade food (something for everyone) and also watching the days sport

Bacon and cabbage(special) scampi (super size portion) Chicken vol au vents (huge).

Disappointed not to see seafood chowder on the menu but overall excellent

Great choice of beer, cider and of course Guinness 🤙🤙

On Monday morning last my husband and I had breakfast at the Ballintemple Inn. We were served by Mikey who was extremely professional, helpful and very friendly. We both had a full Irish and were very impressed by the presentation of the food. The food was delicious and such a pleasant venue. It was our first time having breakfast there and we shall certainly be back.

Went for dinner with friends on Monday the 30th of December 2019. There was 7 of us and we were asked to wait for a table despite the place being not at all busy. We waited around 15 to 20 minutes and after asking twice we were seated in the back area where we found only two tables to be occupied. The table containex only cutlery and paper shabby napkins so we were unsure of why it took so lobg to assemble. If they wdis not want our custom they coukd have said they were to busy and we would have graciously left. Which now I wish we had. We ordered our drinks and food, our drinks arrived. After 40 minutes to an hour two luke warm chicken and mushroom vol au vents arrived minus the chips and side salad. We began eating these as were were hungry and expected the rest of the food to arrive. Alas two battered cods arrived with salad but no chips. A carbonara arrived with no chips. We alerted the waiter to the fact no chips and salad had arrived. Two raw containers of chips that had clearly being dumped in and out of if a fryer arrived. As more food arrived out in drips and drabs as in one waiter carrying a small side salad followed by another carrying the same. We told them of the food that we were still waiting on and that the chips were raw after reporting these things to four different staff members a male staff member eventually apologised and said there was only one chef and they were under pressure. We got hot cooked chips and our side salads and the rest of our food all in all over an hour and a half. Disgraceful service and worrying to have luke warm food this is a health and safety hazard. Also all staff except for one member acted as if we were a nuisance when we clearly did not want to complain until we really had no other choice. At the time of pay there was no apologies or alterations to the bill we paid up and left as we were glad to get out and on the road as we had a long journey ahead. I would give a clear warning to anyone to avoid this place. The toilets were also lacking in toilet roll, not clean and the floor was wet from some unknown source.

Had lunch here on Sunday 16th September. Service was so bad to say it was like Duffy's Circus would be an understatement. One of us had soup for starter, was served soup and bread/roll, no spoon, butter or other cutlery. Asked for cutlery and was given a dessert spoon only. After again asking for 'soup spoon' eventually again received another dessert spoon. We were there for approximately 1 hour 45 minutes. I realise there was a christening on there also, but employ enough staff and before you put them on duty on a busy Sunday, train them. I live locally and was looking forward to having some place new in town for Sunday lunch. Food was very far from perfect

Ballintemple Inn is a nice pub, its spacious and full of natural light but the food would not be the best. It's ran by Maunn's I found the team are very young they could take away your fork that you would have used for your starter and not give you a new one for your main course you would have to ask for a new one. Also I observed that another customer had to ask for the dish to dip your fingers into after having finger food such as spare ribs.
As for the toilets OMG they were disgraceful I actually walked back out they were not clean and are small.

Three generations of Sheehy’s for aunts birthday. Our stay at Ballintemple Inn was perfect. We stayed 4 nights and the rooms, beds & showers were great. Breakfast, food and drink all very tasty. Paul and the staff could not have done anything more for us. I’d recommend Ballintemple to anyone and we are looking forward to our next stay in 2020.
I’d like to thank Paul & all his staff for making us fell very welcome.
All the best for 2020.
