Visited the Woollen Mills today after our visit to Glendalough. It’s a lovely little store and great for tourists looking for quality Irish gifts for family and friends.
Plenty of free parking, the cafe is now closed. It’s a pity and I think they will lose out, sometimes over a coffee ones often thinks I may as well buy x while I’m here, just my opinion. Last time we bought items we had seen on the way to the cafe, today we bought nothing.

Woollen Mill (come shop/tearooms/B&B) during our drive through Laragh we saw the sign and thought why not, has all the usual knick knacks, and some awesome woollen articles as you would expect however a little pricey for our tastes.

Whilst there another site to see is the Derrybawn bridge Built in 1700, over the Glandassan river, makes for the most perfect photo opportunity.

`I always go to this wooden mill when `I am in Glendalough and always find something beautiful. There is a big selection of jumpers and woollens for men, women and children and their woven capes and shawls are a delight. `prices are not dirt cheap - you get what you pay for - but it is very good value if you are used to the vastly overpriced goods in London and other places in England. And it is in a really beautiful old mill by a humpbacked bridge and a stream. Well worth a visit.

We stopped here almost by accident as we did not realize how close we were on our days adventure. Sweaters Galore and at great prices. My husband got a lovely cable knit sweater that he just loves wearing. I said to my self and him, I have so many I think I will pass. Dummy me. I should have gotten another just because!Prices are better than at Avoca. And they have a lot of nice things in men's bigger sizes. My husband take a 3X and had the choice of a lot of sweaters.

We visited both shops in this area and purchased in each one. Top quality Irish knits and tweeds, jewelry etc. friendly helpful staff but absolutely no pressure to purchase . Love these shops and will bring my overseas visitors here for sure. Not overpriced.

The place offers a large choice of sweaters, socks, blankets, jackets... but really outdated. Difficult to find something nice and wearable nowadays. :).
Price are also quite expensive

The Woollen Mill is not worth the visit. Squalid and unkempt on the outside overpriced goods on the inside. Tearoom closed. Derelict building adjoining the shop with the rear overgrown and untidy with abandoned vehicles. All this at the beginning of one of Irelands pearls - The Green Road. What a shame. Avoid.

Imagine my disappointment and disgust to find on closer inspection that the traditional poncho style garment I'd purchased here at around €60 was in fact 100% acrylic !!!

Visited here.on day one. By day three felt woolen-ed out. This mill is easy to find near Glendalough, in Laragh. They had a large selection of goods at better than most prices. Th mill is situated near a lovely stream & worth a pic. Use the Fexco card ( must be registered within 48 hrs) would stop here again if nearby.

Wide selection of Irish-made sweaters, capes, Harris tweed sports coats, wool yarn, etc. as well as Waterford crystal, Baleek pottery, and other souvenirs. Better prices than at Avoca stores (be sure to use your FEXCO tax free shopping card for an 11% discount from not paying the VAT tax). Beautiful setting, too, in an historic woolen mill next to a tranquil stream and a stone bridge dating from 19700. Located very close to Glendalough, just outside the village of Laragh (from the center of Laragh, take the R755 in the direction of Rathdrum for about 500 yards).
