I was very excited to ride horses in Ireland. We booked a private tour with Wiklow Equitours and while it was gorgeous, I have notes. Usually when I go on a trail ride, the guide will either make an effort to my name or call me by my horse’s name when addressing me. There were only two of us on this private tour and the guide kept referring to us as “madam” and “lady.” That made it confusing when we were out on the trail. My mom and I have experience riding western style. This tour was English style. That’s fine, but the guide wouldn’t give us instructions until we were in the middle of a task- like trotting. Then she was frustrated when we would get nervous. The worst part was when my mom’s horse decided to go off on its own. When the guide and I realized she was missing, she told me to “stay there” and rode away. My horse was not okay with that and would take off after her. I feel for the guide, that must have been scary, but I didn’t feel the situation was handled in the best or safest way. She caught up with my mom’s horse and removed its bit. When the horse decided to run off AGAIN, my mom had no way to steer. We were on roads at that point, and she was afraid of coming face to face with a car. At one point, the guide took a photo of my mom and I on our horses using her own phone. Because she had done that, and because our little adventure got her back to the stable late for the next ride, she wouldn’t take a photo of us with our own phones. She keeps saying she sent me the photos, but I haven’t received them, so I am not sure why she won’t send them via email or a different way. Since everything turned out just fine, it’s a funny story to my mom and I. Again, the views are gorgeous. But if you are not comfortable riding English style, speak up BEFORE your ride so they can review instructions with you before you take off.

This was one of the best riding experiences I've had and I've been riding for 20+ years. Michael picked us up at Wicklow station with a warm welcome and then we went to the farm to pick up the horses before going down to Brittas Bay. The weather was amazing, the horses well behaved and Michel adapted the tour after our experience level. He also really cares for and loves his horses and has some good stories to tell which makes it feel wholesome and genuine. I warmly recommend going here for a memory for a lifetime.

I did the beach hack with my 8 year old daughter and it was a wonderful experience for us both. We had so much 🤩 fun. Brittas Bay is just so beautiful and we were lucky with the weather. The horses were bulletproof, lots of dogs approached us but no spooking at all.

This was my second time riding an horse. Ok... something went wrong during my ride with all the people in the wood. I totally fricked out....but that was not the horse fault either the owner. That was totally me. And only me. The owners were excellent in reassuring me and the horse and made sure i was ok till the end. I'm grateful for that. They were stars. Horses are very clever and that day I carried with me some trouble and worries about my family and the horse felt that... I was terrified but they were with me all the way. I want to come back and connect with the horse. And trust each others. Thanks for being so patient with me and supporting and understanding. I will be back stronger. Valentina from Italy ♥️

Absolutely wonderful morning. Four of us went on the beach ride led by Mick and Jack. The horses were fantastic. I have not ridden in 13 years and the lovely CJ looked after me so well. Mick was really entertaining and we had a great time. Highly recommend and we will be booking for the forest ride out next

Absolutely super day out. Beautiful setting in the heart of Wicklow. Easy to locate on Google Maps. Very experienced staff and super friendly to all. Animals are well looked after and hugged by staff. I was a bit nervous to start but got lots of encouragement. Beautiful trek through forest. Really enjoyed every minute. Good value. Will definitely return. 5 stars day out.

Just had a fabulous 3 days riding with my daughter in the forest and on beautiful Brittas Bay beach. We were matched perfectly with 2 fantastic horses that we would have loved to take home with us :) Great experience that I would highly recommend.

Went with my kid for a horse riding yesterday and was great. Its our 2nd time this year and my kid asking when we ll go again (haha) . I love the trail and horses r fantastic. Highly recommend.

We had a horse riding class followed by a forest trek horseride. Simona is a brilliant and very patient instructor and we left feeling confident in our horseriding skills. Had a fantastic time, I highly recommend.
