Have attempted to visit the restaurant twice for breakfast. Had heard good things about the cafe. First visit, there was no bacon available as the chef had not ordered same. Second visit today, the only food available was tea/coffee and dessert due to rostering issues. Will not be attempting a third visit. Pity because we always like to support local.

Danny’s Curiosity Shop at Newbarn Farm. This is a great place to visit and something for everyone. A restaurant serving snacks and meals of good quality in nice surroundings. The petting farm for children.
Then there is the farm shop and Danny’s Curiosity Shop with all sorts of wonderful things from times past for sale at fair prices.

I am a regular visitor to New Barn Farm and let me stress that the food is superb. However, the owner is highly rude and is always hovering around waiting to pull the plate from under you as soon as you take your last bite. He unashamedly loiters around the restaurant in dirty shorts, getting under the feet of staff and customers! On one occasion, I was there with a pary of six for no more than hour and he made no bones about the fact that there was a queue forming for tables, yet we also had to queue like everyone else, and therefore are entitled to enjoy our lunch in peace and without being made to feel unwelcome. I really think he could do with taking a step back from "front of house" as his customer services skills are akin to that of one of the pigs on his farm.

Took the little walk around the farm. It was lovely see the animals roam somewhat freely. The shop has a huge range of fresh fruit and veg, nuts and seeds etc. Stopped for some light lunch in The Donkey Shed too.

This place was recommended by a work colleague who has been known to be at the door as it opens on a Sunday for the duck salad and I can see why. Driving in it is very unassuming as is the building but please don’t let this put you off. I was here for lunch with my mother in law and the kids. It was Friday lunch time and the place was packed. However, very quickly a table was located, menus delivered and a drinks order in place. The kid’s menu is really nice and my daughter went for the beef, veg, mash and gravy. Her beef was so soft and she ate the lot. The food was really well presented and tasted amazing. Granny had the open beef sandwich and I opted for the Duck Burrito. It was so good and very filling. The desserts and home bakes looked amazing but we were all too stuffed. This is a place not to be missed. After we went over to the farm shop and the kids feasted on fresh raspberries and blueberries on the way home after saying hello to the Donkeys of course.

I love being able to buy fresh food there. The kids love feeding the animals. The food in the restaurant is good, but always too busy in the weekends. In the summer is way too hot inside the restaurant.

Bring some carrots for the donkeys and bread for the ducks and the kids will be entertained for ages.
The food in The Donkey Sheds Restaurant is excellent and the produce on sales in the farm shop is fresh and extremely good value
