Tayto Park is located in Ashbourne, Co. Meath and just 30 minutes from Dublin is Ireland’s only theme park and zoo, With something for everyone; young, old and in between. For the thrill seekers, the Cu Chulainn, Ireland’s first rollercoaster and Europe’s first wooden rollercoaster with an inversion, is sure to get your adrenaline flowing. But that’s not all, there are a huge variety of attractions, from Rollercoaster's to playgrounds, to steam train's and much much more! And for those who don’t need an increased heart rate to have a good time, enjoy a laid-back stroll through our zoo, where you can interact with the exceptional animal collection, from the mischievous meerkats to the largest of the big cats, the amur tiger.

I was torn between a 3 or 4 star review but was feeling generous and plumped for four! I brought two ten year old girls and we did have a good day out. I was mostly pleased with the value for money and I would recommend Tayto Park to others. For me and my daughter I think once was probably enough. We are not fans of roller coasters, so our choices were reduced but not limited. There was plenty to do, fairground rides, the zoo, a fab playground, fossetts circus show, … however the amount of queuing was a bit off putting. There were a few other annoying niggles but my biggest gripe and the reason I dropped a star was the Nissan Driving track. It is a good concept and really needed only one extra ingredient, more time on the actual track!!! We queued for 30 minutes for less than 5 minutes on the actual track. Ten minutes at the least on the track would go a long way to justify the queuing. They queued for the same amount of time at the climbing wall and got far longer on the attraction. Other parents expressed similar exasperation.

Their favourite attractions were the climbing wall and the monorail. Bringing your own lunch is a good idea. The gift shop wasn’t as overpriced as it could have been. We spent from 10am till 6:30 pm there and I felt we had a really good day out.

We had a great day out in Tayto Park. Plenty of parking with people guiding you to car spots, temperatures taken on arrival. queues for getting in were slow and big meaning you lost out on half an hour in the park.
Social distancing was good and in every queue you had to keep 2 meters apart while wearing a mask with staff implementing the rule and asking people to put on a mask where necessary.
When we went only the zoo and certain food stalls were open which was fine as it is what we paid for and was definitely well worth the money.
The lemur walk was brilliant, social distancing implemented and a staff member telling you how to treat the animals before entering and staff inside to insure your safety and the animals.
Food served was delicious and plentiful highly recommend chips on a stick great hit with both adults and children and in my opinion not overly priced for a zoo/theme park.
My only issue I had was a lot of the enclosures had fencing then bushes up past my hips outside of the enclosures making it hard for my son to see most animals unless he was picked up to see. In saying that it would not us from returning it was just a shame as the enclosures are well laid out otherwise.
We are looking forward to returning once restrictions have lifted so we can have a go of the rides and see the shows.

Great day out for the family. We went on a very hot Thursday and it was very busy due to summer holidays. This was our first visit so we didn't know what to expect and queued for rides starting in the Junior Zone which were pretty lengthy. Queues are taking longer than necessary due to only one staff member on most of the rides and they are very slow to let people on and off. The longest queue was in The Viking for just over an hour however it was well worth the wait. All other rides were about 30-40 mins.

The food in the restaurant was very good and prices for food and drink in Tayto Park were very reasonable for a tourist attraction. We were only able to get round to half the park however we still enjoyed our visit and children had a brilliant time.

Next time we visit we will ensure we arrive at opening time and start off at the other side of the park and work our way back to the entrance.

I had the worst experience on Tuesday, leaving me extremely embarrassed😢😭😭
It was my daughter’s birthday on Wednesday so we decided to take her to Tayto park on Tuesday, we have a membership card for 5 ppl, so I booked it, on arrival I presented the confirmation email and was asked for my pass as always, the guy on the counter informed me my pass had expired and we would not be allowed in unless we paid €225, I hadn’t received notice that my membership expired and it let me book on line with my membership number….
I explained this to him but he just answered I don’t care you have to pay or your not going in,
I asked to speak to a manager, and this very person called Kelly cam out, didn’t want to hear me out at all!!!! Extremely rude, to save any further embarrassment I decided to pay, the guy asked me if I wanted to renew my pass to which I replied absolutely not…. Then the manager threatened security on me, to which I replied for what??? Just because I wouldn’t renew my pass!
It’s a total joke and my card is still working to book as I just wanted to see when I got home, I also went through my email and no notification of expiration was sent to me.
Extremely unprofessional unapproachable people working here, they need retraining on how to deal with customers

Ok i found the website was confusing. It’s one price for entry and this gets you on to all the rides (if you are the correct height) and access to the short circus and to see the animals and bird show etc.

It was 35 euros for each of us and you have to pay this even if you don’t want to go on any rides.

There were a couple of rides that were very good and the queues were around 45 mins. The issues are there aren’t enough rides or staff in this park especially for the cost.

The Viking ride is ok but not worth the queue of 2 hours. The rain came on and the path was completely flooded as in over the top of our shoes within about half hour of rain. The ride shut until the rain went off (this is ireland???). One family per boat regardless of amount of people due to covid however squashed in a line for 2 hours with no social distancing beforehand?

There is serious abuse of the disability passes. These are great for those who need them but they were being passed to lots of different people when the person they were for waited outside the ride. I saw this on several occasions. The pass was a card they showed why can’t a wristband be used then at least the person has to be with them?

We found the staff very nice but only 1 person to manage the queue, get you on and checked and start the ride. It took 4/5 times longer to get people on and off than it did the duration of the ride. More staff are needed and no excuse with the prices they charge.

5G ride was pretty rubbish the glasses were terrible couldn’t see out them, very underwhelmed when it was over.

Food was very nice and reasonable priced around 10euros for burger/ hotdog, chips and a drink which was lovely, and quick however I didn’t see any covered areas to eat but it was dry when we were eating. There are chicken goujons but this only comes in a kids meal for around 6 euros, you can pay an extra 80 cents and get a normal drink and you actually get more chips with the kids meal.

No factory tour and some rides shut but they do give you 1 packet of crisps each on way out… maybe a reduction in price or a food voucher would have been a nice gesture.

This park needs more rides and more staff before I’d consider going back.

Every year we attend Tayto Park, we always have a great time. However not today, absolutely no social distancing, poor mask wearing, poor hygiene and zero policing! The temperature check at the entrance is only for show! Queues are very very long, waited 1hour 20 minutes for the Viking voyage, social distancing on the boats but not in the queue, go figure! Booking is required as they limit the number of people in the park (or so they say) and everybody pays €35! I did not see a difference between this year and the previous times we were there, if anything it seemed even more crowded. Our day caused us a great deal of anxiety as we have been and still are Covid compliant. I read from the other reviews that this has been going on since reopening and no improvement even though customers have left numerous negative reviews, they are just ignoring those. We will not be back!

We went to Tayto Park last summer and enjoyed it so much we decided to make it an annual trip. Today we returned and it was even better than before. The park wasn't too busy, the only time we experienced long queues was at Driving School (kids get far too short a time on the cars, this was probably my only issue!), and at Dino Dash in the afternoon, which is to be expected with a new attraction. Food in the lodge restaurant and ice cream shop was very good quality and reasonably priced. There is so much to do and see there are not enough hours in the day. Definitely get there for 9.30 and go straight to the q for Viking Voyage if that's on your to-do list.

We went to Tayto park yesterday the 27th August 4 adults 4 children,the children did have a great day, the rides,the attractions were all great.
However I have some issues that really need addressing.
Firstly these win a prize kiosks that you have,which cost 5e for 3 balls if you win on first ball your only allowed play for fun with the next two,I can kind of accept,but what I can't accept is that your not allowed to play and win again for the rest of the day,now when you bring 4 young children with you all want to win something and if you pay your money you should be allowed to play and win as often as you like.
Now my second problem is with the queueing system, obviously the queues are part and parcel of the occasion,however its the skipping of queues that needs addressing, I spent 1.5hrs in a queue and we were constantly been skipped by teenagers that were "going to their friends" after a while I decided that I was not going to allow anymore pass by but I don't feel that it should be the public having to address this, all my teens queued together for each ride i would not allow them join and skip queue after, on the viking splash ride I stopped a group of 4 skipping only for them to get to skip the queue when the member of staff decided he was needing to fill boats (which is absolutely correct)but instead of asking from the top down,these were called and the probably 50 or so people ahead of then we not asked first, this after they skipped the queue and joined 1.5 hrs after queue started when I questioned him he actually shouted at me that he was trying to fill boats to move queue quicker, but there were other groups ahead that would of been happy for 2 of their group to go.
I understand its a big operation you run and for most part run very well but the fairness has to be addressed.

Great day out, staff were helpful and friendly. Queues were shorter than we expected for August but we went on a rainy Wednesday (although it cleared up later). Queue for Viking Splash was an hour even with a short hiatus for maintainence but we'd read the reviews and ensured we got in that queue early. My daughter is an adrenaline freak and had 5 trips on Cú Chulainn and never had to wait longer than 25mins. Rotator and the other faster rides were similar queue times. However the Flight School queue is much longer than the part you can see (>50mins) and all the Junior Zone queues are extremely slow, often up to 45mins. 7y.o. felt it worth the wait but I wasn't so sure.
We found the pizza tasty but felt there could have been better distributed seating within Covid guidelines (nowhere to sit, this was during the downpour) and there are not enough covered seating areas for an Irish summer especially as the indoor dining option is take-away only. (You won't find this out until you get inside the Lodge)
I would recommend for future summers that they build more cover (as someone who also burns at the slightest sun) and also a realtime table of queue times to redirect people toward the less busy parts of the park.

Admission went well with temperature checks and all that. Staff were very nice and friendly. Cafes were plentiful, very reasonable prices for a theme park. The park was clean and tidy overall. So you might ask why did I give it a 2 star rating. I think it is very under staffed and the staff are not well trained. Our first ride after getting into the park at 9.35 was the Cuchulainn coaster. We queued for 25 minutes and were then told that they had an issue to call back later when we saw it going again. No problem with stopping a ride for safety issues but a least give us a pass so we don't have to queue again. We then went to the rotator where they was no queue. We got straight on but had to wait until the ride was nearly full before they would run it and this ment we sat for 7 minutes for a near full load. Then as we were almost ready to go 3 more people came along and they decided to open up all our safety devices to let them on. Unfortunately one of them was unable to close the safety harness as they were a bit big so then we had to unhook everyone to let them off and go again. We we were at least 12 to 15 minute waiting to get going from the time we first sat into the seats, a bit of a joke to be honest. On our next ride we waited so long for a single attendant to buckle us in that it poured rain and we all got soaked to a point where we had to go back to our cars to change our clothes He was on his own with no rain gear and to be honest I felt sorry for him. Surely all staff should be provided with proper safety and rain gear. It poured rain 4 to 5 time between 9.30 and 3pm and we got very little done as the rides closed while there was heavy rain. When leaving we did say it to a girl at reception (while waiting for a rain shower to pass before we went to our car) who was very nice to be fair to her and did approach the manager with our complaint but his response was it was too late in the day to be complaining.
In conclusion I think this park certainly needs more staff, train the staff and provide them with proper safety gear and if it pours rain all day and they stop the rides then they should give people at least a reduced ticket price for future visits . We spent 125 to get in, 40 euro on food and 18 in the gift shop where we ended up while it was raining. A bit hard to take when we got 3 rides done.
