Great sandy beach, very little seaweed, family and pet friendly. Nice walking beach, good both on cold and sunny days. Great views over the Atlantic and very private.

be sure to visit here, it is stunning and breath taking, the fresh air is fantastic, it is amazing on a sunny day not so good if it is raining, fantastic spot for a picnic and to go swimming

Quiet sandy beaches. Atlantic coast and fresh sea air. Love this region. Have been coming here for 37 years. Can't beat it for relaxation and calm. Even on wet windy days of which there are many in this area!

A beautiful beach with clear blue water, lovely rock pools, seems very safe for kids to swim and play, very convenient car park, and yet never seems over crowded. The Gala shop up in the village is very handy for picnics :-) The drive down to it and the little parking area have been nicely upgraded since we were hre... More

This has to be the nicest beach I have ever visited. Not crowded, perhaps due to time of year. Clean, stunning views, blue seas. Fantastic.

Beautiful beach. Travelled in December but were blessed with a beautiful day. My daughter and her new husband were able to have some lovely photos taken on the beach

As a beach for playing or for walks, nature watching or for scenery it has it all. The sea was good for swimming with a gentle sloping beach and never a tide of real concern as safe as the sea can be. Also excellent for rock pools and has a nearby scuba school offering scuba and snorkelling.

I always visit Galway in September, so the weather isn't always the best. It is generally quite cold and raining, with gale force winds from time to time. The beach itself is great for walking and swimming if the weather is appropriate.
