Gorgeous beach with stunning views! I'd recommend parking at the wee chapel and walking down to the beach, it's about a 10 minute walk. There is parking further down the lane but hard to turn. Go for a lovely long walk or sit and enjoy the beach! However it isn't safe for swimming due to dangerous rip tides.

My husband, toddler, baby and I stopped here enroute back from Malin Head on a Sunday. It was my second time here as I was here in April 2019. You can park at the church or chance getting nearer to the entrance but you may struggle to get a spot & to turn on a busy day. We originally parked at the church but as the little ones are young we moved the car nearer to the entrance to load up when leaving. It is buggy friendly for the most part to access the beach except for a rocky bit near the beach. You will need help to lift the buggy over this bit. I found it tricky to push the buggy over the stony parts on the sand so didn't push it for that long of a distance. The sand dunes are really impressive and older children were having fun scaling them. Whilst on a solo walk, I noticed a viewing point high on the mountain looking down, that would be an amazing viewpoint which we didn't check out. There is a special feel to this beach. We figured out why it is called the 5 finger strand and I looked it up afterwards to double check... Interesting. I love this beach and we have checked out many of Donegal's beautiful & numerous beaches. Fantastic for families with kids. A must when visiting Malin Head and the Inishowen peninsula.

Exceptionally beautiful beach. Access is signposted from the road with no car park at the end of the tiny road. There is space for a few cars. Alternatively park near the church and walk down. Depending on the tide, there might be rock pools. A relaxing and natural place with no crowds.

Stunning views.
You'll probably find that you are the only ones on the beach. The strand also boasts some of the highest sand dunes in Europe. Hours of fun for young kids, and some not so young :) With rock pools for the kids to explore, you can see were the beach gets it's five finger name from.
After you leave the beach take the road on the left and drive to the top car park to fully appreciate the stunning views of the beach.

Beautiful beach and spot to reset. A good walk from the main parking area so depending on mobility I would try to head up and get a little closer. Also just to be careful of the stone way down to the beach but it really was beautiful.

What a beautiful beach and stayed for the sunset 🌇 With the most highest dunes in Europe. Best sunsets in Donegal. If your travelling near Malin Head, this beach is a must visit. I highly recommend this beauty 😍

One of the most hauntingly beautiful beaches in the whole of ireland sheltered by high cliff edges that rise 500ft.The cliff edges are dangerous and not for the faint hearted which makes this area a paradiseto explore. It is possible to drive to the top where there is parking allowing you to take in breathtaking views and to continue on to malin head Irelands most northerly point. .Inishowen is full of history and has one of irelands oldest free standing celtic crosses namely st.patricks cross churchtown Ballyliffen road.Carndonagh. the beach itself is worth walking across to the bar mouth estuary isle of doagh where strong currents are most evident.trabreaga bay meaning beach of lies has dangerous currents.

Visited this beach Sep 7th.2014 and it was lovely. I'm writing this review to let visitor know that if you visit this beach there is only enough parking for about 5 or 6 cars. You will have very little room for turning for the return journey. There should be a sign somewhere telling visitors about the lack of parking.

This must be a hidden gem in county Donegal as every time we go there are very few people there. This makes it a lovely quite and peaceful place for a walk along the strand. The sand dunes are massive and a sight to behold. There are beautiful views out to sea.

Warning: do not swim in the sea here! There are so many signs warning of the tides and strong currents that could kill you but still I saw people out swimming - be safe and stay on the sand or just paddle at the edge.

Five Fingers Strand is one of many beautiful and peaceful spots on the Wild Atlantic Way in Donegal. It's got big sky, a long, clean sandy beach and rolling waves. Perfect!
