Had a lovely time at the Gentle Barn. We were on holiday and I was very happy to discover that we were in the area (Christiana, Tennessee) at the right time to visit. We spent time with all the animals and heard about their stories from the staff and volunteers. There’s also a small shop on site. Lolli, Minnie Mae and the turkeys were the highlights for me. Will definitely visit again at either this location or another if I’m ever nearby!

Happy to have discovered The Gentle Barn and getting an opportunity to learn more about their organization. The staff and volunteers were very kind and very informative. We got to spend time with each of the animals hearing the stories of where they came from, what they endured, and how they were able to make their way to their new home at the Gentle Barn. I felt like I was sitting and getting to know new friends. It warmed my heart. I do hope to visit again :)

Ok so a little heads up before visiting this place. They are going to talk your ear off about a plant based diet and tell you all about why you should become a vegan. I’m all about helping animals but, I had a few others with me who felt differently about being nagged on about their diet and now don’t want to return. I love the meaning behind this place and saving animals that are abused. I don’t think it’s fair to push your beliefs onto others. I love animals with my whole heart but, they took it a step to far some would say. Now on to the animals they are amazing I grew up on a farm full of all the animals they had here so it’s not like I seen anything new. I was kind of disappointed that I drove all that way for maybe 20 animals total to see if that. Don’t think I will return.

How much can I rave about this little sanctuary. The staff here are some people who would take home every animal on the farm to care for them better than any human. These neglected and abused animals finally have love and compassion. A home for them to be loved and cared for as they deserve. from the chickens to the horses and everything in between they are all cared for the same, with love, compassion and respect. And of course lots of kisses. never thought I would feel the need to kiss a cow but I did. I kissed a cow. great place to spend the day for no cost, donations are welcomed but not asked for. I will be going back.
