We were visiting Knoxville and walked through the park on morning. The park, while small, is very nice with water features and very interesting statues. Be aware that a number of homeless folks hang out in the area so be aware if this is something that is upsetting.

Sometimes you may catch a festival that takes place in this area. Other times, there are water fountains to run around in. But usually, there are bench to sit and watch the people pass. Not a destination, but more of a place to sit in between tourist spots.

Love walking through Krutch park at all times of the year. Always something new to see. Kids have always loved the creek that runs through it. Lots of flowers, and art structures. Love to site on a bench and people watch for a while too.

You have covered Market Square, Gay Street, missed the next showing of a movie and what a place to get off your dogs than cross the street into Krutch Park. Just enough green grass to fly a kite or sling a frisbee. Benches to sit and if you venture toward the tree line more benches with a stream and artistic sculptures to ponder as you sit. In the general area you will also find a Coffee and Chocolates Shop and Gelato shop if there is a need. ;)

I stumbled upon this while leaving Market Square and cut through it to expedite getting to the Sun Sphere. Close to the art and the history museums. Free.

We were spending a day and a half in Knoxville, for the very first time. Though we had driven past Knoxville many times, we had always been going elsewhere near-by.

On a cool, and misty March day, we did a walking tour of the downtown area, and stopped into Charles Krutch Park, just south of Market Square. Both areas have been recently renovated (some of the work around Charles Krutch Park was still going on, at a major clip.

Charles Krutch Park backs up to the East Tennessee Historical Society, which was another of our stops.

The park, itself is small, occupying a space of a blocks length, and then a half-block’s width, but we found it to be an excellent place to spend about 30 mins, strolling it, and taking in the art installations. We also enjoyed the small “stream,” which is more a “water feature,” but an attractive one, with some areas being naturalized, though I believe that all was manmade.

In all, a lovely place to spend a bit of time, right in the heart of Downtown Knoxville. I only whish that we had encountered better weather, and had had more time to spend in Knoxville. I hope to remedy that, on our next visit, and will devote more time to Krutch Park.

This lovely "parkette" was donated to the city years ago, as long as it was maintained and never developed. There was a fence for a long time, and that was taken down for whatever reason, but it sure looks better. There is a small babbling brook and just a nice place to rest your body. Some great art work as well.

A nice small and peaceful park right in the heart of downtown, right next to Market Square and Gay Street. Art sculptures change periodically and the small area is pleasant to visit and a great photo opp place.

We were walking around downtown Knoxville and found this little park. We enjoyed sitting for a while and walking around looking at the sculptures. Nice to see some green in the downtown area.

I work downtown so I stroll through this park most every day. Many nice photo opportunities with the waterfall and 'interesting' art sculptures. Plenty of benches to relax on. Makes for a nice break of the day...
