About
Tennessee Hills Distillery is the dream and vision of our founder, Stephen Callahan. The distillery is located in Jonesborough, Tennessee's oldest town, and housed in the very historic Salt House building which was constructed in the1840s and used to store salt during the Civil War era. The building has gone through a very rigorous renovation process and provides the perfect venue for any tourist visiting Jonesborough. While at the distillery, visitors have the opportunity to witness every aspect of our liquor making process such as mashing/fermenting to the final distillation in our hand-made copper stills that were built by the fellas at Tennessee Hills Distillery, as well as our bottling and packaging processes. The facility also provides a tasting bar that will allow our customers and tourist to experience and purchase all of our Tennessee Hills products.

Excellent Taste & Experience
Jun 2021 • Couples
We did a tasting with Zach yesterday. He really knew the product & made it a very enjoyable experience! There was a great selection & after the tasting we bought three different kinds to bring home to enjoy. 5 stars for the Tennessee Hills Distillery & 5 stars for Zach!

Another good reason to go to Jonesboro.

Tennessee Hills has a nice selection of bourbons and rums. Their rum is made from molasses and is some of the best craft rum out there. They make something called Lemon Drop. It’s one of the better sellers and it’s easy to see why. It’s great chilled by itself, or use it as a mixer. Scott has himself a terrific place. It’s well worth a stop when visiting East Tennessee.

The staff was very polite and knowledgeable. Got to the sampling a loved their rye and blood orange/honey bourbon. Walked next door to the bar and had full glass, just to make sure I did like them. I was not disappointed and bought a couple bottles to take home.. If you in the area and like great whiskey you have to visit Tennessee hills distillery!

Hello! I wanted to give special recognition to Emily! She was amazing. The girls left the men behind and had a girls day and she was so delightful! I personally had never been to a distillery and she made my day! Thank you so much. She is great.
The product itself is also amazing!!

Old Salt House Lends Character to the Distillery
Apr 2021
Located right on the railroad tracks in the old Salt House dating back to the Civil War! Very friendly people and a fun place to try some interesting Bourbon and flavored Whiskey. Personally I liked the Rye and the Blood Orange flavored Whiskey which I did bring home along with a blood orange candle,.

Fun place to check out!

We were out house hunting and happened upon this fabulous place. Emily was our bartender and she provided a great tasting experience. I have to say the lemon drop was my favorite!
