I have been spoiled by museums at Duke university and Penn State so this small facility is a bit of a come-down. However if you are visiting Johnson City it is worth a visit.

We visited the Reece Museum for a homeschool field trip and it was wonderful. The featured local artists make you proud to be from Tennessee! My son loved the section on storytelling. Kind and educated staff!

This is a great little museum on the campus of ETSU. They have rotating exhibits, some of which feature student works and often times will feature outstanding touring exhibits. A must see.

Parking was a problem. The exhibits, though, were beautiful and well-placed for viewing. From antique pianos, to spinning wheels, to native Appalachian art, the Reece Museum if a delightful bon mot for locals and visitors alike.
