The kids had great fun skating here. The price is reasonable and it wasn't too busy in the afternoon on the weekend. The skates were good quality and the floor was well maintained. There is also a cafe available for food and snacks. Great place for the kids to have fun in a good location in Johnson City.

I enjoy going here. Idk why everyone wanted wooden floors. I like the cement. Easier to skate on. It's reasonably priced and I have fun when I go. Foods overpriced but that's expected. I enjoy rollerskating though.

I echo earlier reviews - the facility is family-owned, reasonably-priced, offers skates for rent, good range of music, decent lighting, concessions, a few arcade games, and it's a good place to host a birthday party. I have held three birthday parties there, and I have found the owners easy to deal with, polite, and reliable. My only real complaint is with the quality of the floor - it appears to be concrete and is bumpy and uneven in places, which means that falling down is more likely to happen, and it hurts more when it happens. I grew up in the 80s, in the era of the wooden floor, which was smoother and less harsh on impact. That said, if you have not skated on anything else, you aren't going to know the difference. It's really Johnson City's only option for roller skating, and not a bad one, at that.

The Skate Center is close to the University and theTree Streets. Also many new apartment are under construction. It is just a couple of minutes from good eateries like The Battery, Tupelo Honey, and more. It is family owned and operated. The cost for day skating is very reasonable. It is a safe environment since kids cannot leave with anyone but their grown-up. They just put down new carpet and painted the floor in the skating area. My grandchildren and I have been several times this summer. In fact my grandson earned his skating belt-loop for scouts there this summer. Safe, reasonable, physically active, and fun. What more could you want.
