This was one of the worst city parks / local parks we have visited. So many reviews say it is GREAT for picnics (NOT !!). We found very few picnic tables and most of them did NOT HAVE SHADE. The playground looked nice BUT ONCE...More

Nice large park bordering Boone Lake in JC. Has boat ramp to access the lake, picnic areas, baseball fields and nice walking trails. The city does movie nights here in the summer from time to time. Great place to take prom or wedding pictures. There...More

I walk the dogs every day. The boardwalk around the lake is wonderful for photographing wildlife and flowers; a paradise to just get away for awhile.

Our tournament was halted by rain and lightning. Not much of a grounds crew, our coached got our field ready to play right before another round of rain cancelled the day. Great facility for baseball and a very good concession stand.

I have walked the trails, the track around the softball diamonds, the path along the waterway, through the grass, the frisbee golf course. All are well maintained, feel safe, and offer clean, pleasant views. Avoid walking under the highway by the river if you fear...More

I have used Winged Deer Park often over the last 6 years. The boat ramp there is very nice. It is really well designed for when the lake level is up, but they have it at least functioning during the low lake levels. The rest...More

Nice spot and away from the busy highway. Lots of interesting plants growing and many in bloom in spring. Worth a stop.

I am not sure about "riding" on the boardwalk section but they are everywhere else. Have fun and don't forget the eagles nesting viewed from the boardwalk and online at ETSU eagle cam.
