This extensive area is great for water activities, hiking, camping, biking. Tennessee has awesome State Parks, this is one of the best, with plenty of hiking trails and water!

My husband and I visited this state park for the first time this past weekend. Wow! We loved it! We are already planning another trip to the Nashville area to hike more of the trails at this park. We arrived early in the afternoon and hiked the Day Loop and part of the Volunteer Trail. It was a beautiful well marked scenic trail. The bluffs overlooking J Percy Priest Lake were a real treat. After our hike, we visited the park’s visitors center. The restrooms at the center were clean and the little gift shop was nice too. And the center was well stocked with trail maps and brochures.

Good place to hike the trails and enjoy the views. Good place for couples or families. Although I went by myself and enjoyed the peacefulness.

Website claims dogs can go on the 4 mile trail. However, signs at the park say otherwise. So we did the shoreline trail where he was allowed. Very nice of the boy scouts to have cleared a nice path with tree markings for walkers.

We love to take the grandkids and walk the 2 mile loop around the water. The kids watch for wildlife commonly seen on our walks. They try to name the trees, before looking at the signs telling them the names. But most of all the love to skip rocks across the water and count the number of skips. Of course, I can't leave out the playground and they loved the TeePee before it got torn down, wish the Rangers would build it back.

I’ve been to Long Hunter lots of times and there is still more to discover. Whether you want a workout kind of hike or a stroll with kids in strollers, you will find it here. Also boats to rent and so much more! Clean bathrooms are a plus! ENJOY!

This is a nice park for getting out in nature. Usually we just go to the boat ramp to meet friends. It is easy in and out with plenty of parking and dock space from which to load your boat. This park has many walking trails and areas for swimming. The grounds are well kept although I think they could use a few more trash cans around. Special events include night hikes, nature walks and the annual Pow Wow.
