3 nights a year the park transforms into a drive-thru Christmas display. The entire park is decorated very nicely. It takes approx. 45 mins to drive through the park. Look for the dates and dont miss the experience. This will be a new tradition....

We landed at Atlanta on the 4th September, hired a car from Thrifty (Must have been the most disinterested, unhelpful and rude staff in the car hire business but this is another story). Nice little campground (not for big rigs, as it's limited to 30 amps). This is an older park, but they do a nice job maintaining it. The rest rooms/showers are acceptably clean. There are horse stables and a swimming beach nearby (Lake Placid). The lake has paddleboat rentals as well. The park is big enough for some hiking. There's a... More

We eat there often; in fact we will be dining there today for the wonderful Father's Day Buffet. The staff is very friendly and I have never heard an unkind word from any of them. The food is yummy and well supplied. Many locals eat there. We really enjoy Friday night catfish buffet. They have delicious coleslaw and hushpuppies too.... More

We have stayed in several state park cabins- this was our least favorite. Cabin number 6 set up was awkward- full size bed in a very small living room. Our cabin had a few bathroom problems- when you take a shower there is no way to prevent it from running out all over the floor. The oven/range had a short... More

Excellent place to enjoy nature and have an excellent meal, with the best view in west Tennessee, all the staff was very helpful, and service all around was great! Would recommend it as a quick get away, for a quite weekend.

We rented one of the one-bedroom cabins at Chickasaw State Park to attend a famiy reunion held at the park every year. Aside from the shower itself being rather small, we were satisfied with the cabin. They come fully furnished so you don't need to bring anything unless you want something like a slow-cooker or large roaster pan. The deck... More

We loved staying here. We rented one of the cabins the park has. (FYI: If you have allergies or sinus issues open ALL of the windows and let the cabin air out.) The cabins were nice and rustic . They were quiet and clean. They have 2 different size cabins and they are near the lake. The bridge was out... More
