Best Rafting Company and Guide!

Outstanding experience! Our family of 4 went on the double run trips on June 2 and had the good fortune of having Nic as our guide for both runs! Nic is very experienced as he’s been a guide for 6 years and rafts for fun when not at work! Safety was the first priority and fun was next on the list. He had control of the raft throughout the trips and was able to steer us right into best parts of the rapids. He turned us at different points for equal splashing opportunities!! Each employee we came into contact with was nice. They keep all the rafts on each trip in a safe proximity in case a boat is in need. The bathroom and changing facilities were the nicest for any similar type outdoor experience business we’ve ever seen and we’ve been to 49 US states so that’s a huge compliment. They have a photographer situated at a rapid and we bought the 15 digital pictures and they were great. I highly recommend this specific rafting company!!

Best time ever

We had the best time ever. Even in October when the weather was cold. They had wetsuits you could rent. The tour guides AJ and Nick were the best. They knew exactly how to navigate the river. They were knowledgeable in history and had some very funny jokes! Their prices were very reasonable and the photo package is highly recommend.

Great rafting experience!

Justin is a great guide. Fun, funny, experienced. The trip was great. It was so cold at just 61 degrees today—I would recommend wet suits if you’re questioning whether or not you need them. The $10 fee is worth it if it’s chilly. Or just make sure to go in the summer. Not their fault! Having rafted a few other times in summer months, I can say that it is more physically enjoyable than in the chilly air. BUT— this groups was reliable, safe, team-oriented, and experienced. A great day!!

Terrible Customer Service

We were looking forward to our trip and were halfway through our vacation when we got the call that my husband’s father was critically ill. We were supposed to raft on the Thursday and emailed Tuesday night and called Wednesday morning. We were told that we could cancel with a $40 fee unless they were able to resell the seats. We were completely fine with that.

We rushed home and made it to spend a couple of days before my Father in Law passed away so obviously that was more important than the money. But a week and a half later I called to ask about a refund (less the fee) or if they resold it and the lady was combative with zero compassion. She proceeded to argue with me even though I was told something different on the phone. I was just asking them if they resold the tickets and she was absolutely terrible. Not sure if I caught her on a bad day but wow.

They keep saying a manager will contact me but no one has. What terrible customer service. I would avoid them especially since no one else has reached out to me and I have left my number.

You should book with Raft Outdoor Adventures

After 2020 pretty much ruined all of our summer plans, we decided to rent a cabin in the Smoky Mtns and do outdoor activities.

We booked Raft Outdoor Adventures to try our first ever attempt at white water rafting.

This experience well exceeded our expectations!! They do a wonderful job! Attentive, organized and so helpful.

COVID protocols were in place and well executed. We felt comfortable the entire time!

AJ was our guide. He was great! He was knowledgeable, fun, funny, and was excellent at “reading” our family. We would definitely ask for him as a guide again.

I can’t recommend this team enough!

Walking back to our car and the end of the adventure, we were smiling, relaxed and happy.

My husband and I commented that we even forgot it was 2020 for awhile.

Highly Recommend! So fun!

We had so much fun with this company! The guides were very funny, helpful, and gave the safety instructions well. Our guide was Chad and he was excellent; we could tell he had a lot of experience rafting and gave us the best ride of the group. He had us surfing in the rapids and it was such a cool experience!!! Highly recommend!!! We will be back!

Life is Good - go rafting!

Fantastic! Courtney guided us through some great III & IV class rapids on the dam-controlled Upper Pigeon. We were the only ones signed up for this time, so we got a VIP tour - complete with surfing the river. Highly recommended for those that live for adventure.

My 1st experience was amazing. Be sure to confirm you are NOT driving in on Hwy 32 as this is a winding one lane road. We were late and moved to the next trip....thank you for not just cancelling us. Our guide,Kyle, did a great job navigating the raft and making sure we had a great experience. Nice that showers were available afterwards.

Kelly was great! We had a group of 10. We went 5 and 5 in two rafts, Kelly taught us about the river and was very informative. You sanitize all of your equipment (supplied) when your done. Great experience! They take your photos when you're on the river too!

Better than a float trip

This was a fun trip. The guide was very knowledgeable and competent. It's a very family-friendly trip. There were only a couple of questionably class IV rapids. They said that people do sometimes fall out, but I don't see how that would be very possible, unless your foot is not secured. The instructions were simple, so easy to follow for younger kids. And the rowing is not strenuous. After you pass the rapids, they let you swim/float in the river. It is highly recommended that you get there at least 15 minutes before you reservation time. And you should hydrate while you wait. It was a good time, but if you are looking for big thrills (IV & V), this would be boring.
