My wife and I selected this venue because it has white water rafting, zipline and rope course all in one location. We chose to to the zipline first. The two guides we had were fun and made sure safety was the top priority. They demonstrated a few things for us to try. For speed , balling up, the upside down Jesus/cross, the Spiderman all easy and different to do. We then followed that with the white water trip. Be advised, seasonal, between Memorial day and Labor day, outside that time frame can not be certain of water levels. Or rafter Joseph (from Texas) was awesome. He knew how to read the water. Selected the best route to take for maximum thrills and wetness. Spins, bumps and even a short quiet time to allow for a quick dip into river. He watched other rafts, and outfitters, getting stuck and having issues and we said (rafted) past or around all of that. For a great outdoor fun time for the family, I would highly recommend this location. About 45 minutes to an hour from Pigeon Forge.

Rafting In The Smokies is the best rafting company in Hartford. You can tell that the owners of this business take 1st class care of their employees & guests! We always have Jeff as our guide when rafting. He is so funny! Ours was one of the last trips of the season. Anybody that rafts knows that the water level is low at the end of the season. Lots of rock hopping! Just adds to the adventure for me! If you're ever in the Smokies & want to raft, call them! They also have an island with a ropes course, climbing wall, zip lines, picnic tables. Something for everyone!!! Can't wait until next season!!!

Had an amazing water rafting experience. Shenandoah (Doah) was very experienced and help make sure that we got the most out of our time on the water. Well run and organized and would definitely recommend.

Good lord, people, do not go rafting with these folks. Unless you are desperate to have a horrible time, and in that case, go ahead, and ask for Jeff as your guide. We made our reservation several weeks prior online and paid in full at that time. They sent an email confirmation, and even called the day before to confirm the trip, etc. Which was a great thing, and the girl I spoke with was very friendly and kind! We arrived the 45 minutes prior to the departure as requested, even though they didn’t get the show started until 2:55 for our 3:00 departure. When we arrived they told us that the river was low and we would have to split our party of 5 into two different boats as they were only allowing 4 people at a time on a raft. No problem. We can go 3 and 2, that’s no big deal, right? They then shuffled you down to an area completely ridden with bugs and insects swarming around you to listen to Jeff give some kind of safety briefing. This easily could have been done in 10 minutes but instead he carried on and on for 25 minutes saying the same things over and over. It was super fun to stand in the sweltering heat swatting flies and mosquitoes while he boosted his ego listening to himself talk. But never fear, after all the anticipation you can build, you get to go pick out your very own incredibly STINKY (and obviously well-used) life vest and helmet!!!!! It can’t get any better than that, right? Wrong. We were excited to find out that we could all ride in the same raft together, and that Jeff himself (who kept referring to him self as jefe’ which is the Spanish word for “boss”..... eyeroll) was our guide! Great! The river was low. We knew that. We had no idea what we were in for. We are frequent river floaters back home in Indiana, so we know that river levels can sometimes cause you to have to drag your raft. No big deal. We had entirely too much weight in the raft. We spent nearly the ENTIRE trip being caught up on rocks and stuck. Several different times he had us out of the boat standing on moss covered rocks, falling down, being swept away in the current, etc while he stood there saying “I don’t know what to do”....... OR SCREAMING commands such as “stand on the rock, NOW!” like we were children. No joke. By far, the worst part of the whole trip was Jeff and his attitude. He should not work in customer service because he acts more like a drill sergeant than a river guide. He started yelling at us and being condescending from the very moment we got into the raft. He told us we weren’t rowing right, we couldn’t count, we weren’t holding the paddles right, he constantly talked down to us, degraded us, and said rude things the entire trip. He repeatedly told us that he “could not possibly physically carry us all down the river” and everything but called us fat, continuing to comment on “how much weight” we were. There was one particular person in our raft that he was especially mean to. He said things like “why do you not understand the words coming out of my mouth?” And “I don’t know how to say it to get you people to understand”, etc. What a complete jerk. I don’t know who the folks are with the red rafts.......but if you’re going to raft, go with them. Those people were racing past us the whole time and everyone was smiling. I assume they were either having a great time, or laughing hysterically at us looking like a bunch of clowns out there getting stuck on a rock every 50 yards. I sure never saw any of them getting stuck or standing outside their boats on a rock! Also, their guides were smokin’, too, by the way! Bottom line: 1.) Jeff needs a new line of work. He can’t deal with people, and he clearly knows nothing about guiding a raft down the river. 2.) Rafting in the Smokies knew that there was too much weight in our raft and sent us out anyway...... which was likely an opportunity for them to increase revenue. It ruined our rafting trip. 3.) We are some seriously cool and easy to please people, so for me to write such a review means it was REALLY bad. Run. Do not walk, run away from this place.

I don't even know where to begin.... What a terrible and horrifying experience! The dam hadn't been let out and the water was TOO LOW for our group of 5 to go in the same raft! Jeff was our guide and was a total JERK! All he did was scream and yell at us from the 1st minute we got on the raft! He was SOOOO MEAN & RUDE to one of my friends! Maybe rascist or just a PLAIN JERK! He had us stuck on every rapids amd rock in the ENTIRE RIVER! We literally had to jump from a rock back into our raft while he was screaming at the top of his lungs! My 2 friends were in major distress and almost got stuck under the raft! I just wanted the whole thing to be OVER....ASAP! I wanted it to be over 50ft from the start point! JEFF was so mean and SUPER UNPROFESSIONAL! He put us in very dangerous situations! I was completely jealous of the other rafts passing by from a different company. They were all laughing and having fun! I am sure they could hear JEFF embarrassing himself (by screaming) and making our trip COMPLETE HELL all the way down the river! Even when the water was calm... we were all scared to say a word or have any sort of fun! I would DEFINITELY go rafting again... BUT NEVER WITH THIS COMPANY EVEEEEER AGAIN! And JEFF needs anger management or fired!
