Great place for dinosaur fans, fossil lovers, and rockhounds. Go during the summer months to see students, scientists, and volunteers at work in the lab and outside digging. Good little movie and museum as well as a small gift shop.

I like to go there a couple times a year. The offer senior and veterans discount. Very friendly staff. You only can get so close to the dig site. I really don't like that. If they can walk to the site they need to make...More

I am not generally keen on Natural History museums but this one was really a GEM and I enjoyed it immensely. It is small and concentrates entirely on the prehistoric things they have found at the archeological dig area just behind the building. I understand...More

What a find! A great place to learn about what is in the earth. This active archaeological dig is informative and an active site.

Located on the site of an active archaeological dig, this museum has a unique insight into the excavation process. While the museum itself is worthy of merit, having several well-done exhibits on different species and their historical context, the real uniqueness of this attraction is...More

I took my kids to see the museum and was surprised that the price had gone up. It is now $5 apiece no matter what age. This is too much for my 6yr old. My almost 9y old she liked it. Lets be clear this...More

Tucked away in Gray, TN is a surprisingly sophisticated and advanced museum. Major exhibitions rotate, but the tour and excavation site are open. The red panda fossils are intriguing. Watch professors and students work in the paleo labs. Some times of the year, you can...More

This was a very pleasant surprise! The museum is filled with reconstructed dinosaurs (real) and many, many fossils which have been found in the area adjacent to the museum. Apparently, this site was a "gathering place" for dinosaurs who became trapped and are now being...More
