The Franklin Theatre opened in the summer of 1937 when the marquee first illuminated Main Street. The downtown historic landmark closed in 2007 but reopened as a 300 seat venue in 2011 with an investment of more than $8 million to again enrich, inspire and connect our community. It still features classic and recent release movies, community and private events - but most exciting are the live concerts by diverse original talents such as Sheryl Crow, Art Garfunkel, Glenn Miller Orchestra, Vince Gill, Keb Mo and many more.

Beautiful, recently renovated Art Deco style theatre on main street in downtown Franklin, TN. They offer a great variety in programming. Everything from movies, to live theatre, to concerts. There is a small upstairs balcony, and that is the place to sit. Lots of leg room, good vantage point of the space, and best of all, a private bathroom as... More

This is a delightful place to hear great performers. It is small and intimate. We have seen many well known people at this theatre. For example, tomorrow night (Sept. 12) the great songwriter Paul Williams will have a show. Since Franklin is so close to Nashville, the Theatre is able to provide very good entertainment from many individuals. Well worth... More

Great place to watch a movie or rent out for an event. Historic building offers all the amenities needed. Check what's showing as they have a lot of 'classics' you won't want to miss.

There's just something about the charm of an old theater that makes movies better and adds to the experience. We visited the theater before it's renovations, and I can't express how neat it is to see the restoration work and the quality of the events and shows being provided there. Whether you're a resident of this great talent, or just... More

Great venue for music, plays and movies. It has an intimate atmosphere that helps you relate to the musicians and/or actors. We went to see John Ford Coley and he did a great job of entertaining us.

A downtown theater, beautifully restored and operated by a non-profit foundation, is one of the premier attractions of this charming city. Offering a combination of older movies and live entertainment be sure to book online at franklintheater, com as many shows are sold out well in advance.
