The Franklin Theatre opened in the summer of 1937 when the marquee first illuminated Main Street. The downtown historic landmark closed in 2007 but reopened as a 300 seat venue in 2011 with an investment of more than $8 million to again enrich, inspire and connect our community. It still features classic and recent release movies, community and private events - but most exciting are the live concerts by diverse original talents such as Sheryl Crow, Art Garfunkel, Glenn Miller Orchestra, Vince Gill, Keb Mo and many more.

A very, very cool venue!

This truly is a great facility to enjoy live music. Any seat is a great seat. Limited seating, small and intimate. Our first choice for live music, especially acoustic.

Came here for the first time to hear T. GRAHAM BROWN, which he alone I will go anywhere...lol...this venue was so nice, very intimate & not a bad seat in the house. The stage is high enough up for everyone to see...acoustics were great...there were times we couldn't hear what Tony was saying due to a very loud man 2... More

The Franklin Theatre IS a definite destination as it regularly has live entertainment and old movies, too. Such an addition to Main Street Franklin. Look it up! Fabulous!!!

We are so glad we were told to visit this adorable town! Tons of restaurant and great local shopping. We had a nice relaxing morning! The Bread Basket place to eat was awesome and I found some cute things in the shops! We were there on a Tuesday morning and everywhere was busy! The spice shop has Nashville hit chicken... More

The theater is a bit hidden among the exhibitions. So it was difficult to find. But with the help of the staff, you'll get there quick. Though, I was there to watch a movie at 7 pm, the doors didn't open even way after 7.

Saved by the Heritage Foundation of Franklin, the Franklin Theatre reopened five years ago. In addition to movies, the Theatre features amazing live music events. Over 2 million dollars was spent on state of the art sound and lighting. Don't miss an opportunity to experience the theatre.

I attended a concert here last month. The restoration job, although not totally complete in my view, was well done and effective. I was surprised to learn of the many esteemed artists and shows that have passed through this rather small venue, which hearkens of the simpler times of bygone days. I would highly recommend keeping an eye on their... More

Great venue for movies, music, and live theater. Perfect date night place since it's right downtown by restaurants and shops, and only 2 blocks from a free parking garage. Check their calendar often! You can see a terrific second run movie for less than 10 bucks, and have wine or beer from the concessions. Live shows, whether they're an acoustic... More

Check their schedule often because they offer everything from fantastic music in an intimate setting to movies. It has been renovated beautifully and is very well maintained. A must see if you are visiting this fantastic southern town.

Great little theater. They have done a fantastic job in refurnishing it. To bad it's not open more for movies during the week days. They have quality events going always on the weekends

Your review means so much to us and thanks for the kind words. We host around 600 events each year, including live music, movies, live theater, community and corporate events...so we're lucky to be so busy. But you're right, it does mean that we can't always show movies on weekdays. Hope you'll be back again soon! More
