Built in 1929, The Factory occupies the buildings that once served as the Dortch Stove Works, Magic Chef and later the Jamison Bedding Company. A member of the National Register of Historic Places, The Factory is rich with history and a very careful renovation has preserved many of The Factory's original features and architectural details. Calvin bought the sprawling complex seven years ago and, after an environmental clean-up, began opening the facility in sections. Today, The Factory at Franklin has 83 tenants. Imagine that factory coming alive with concerts, dining, shopping, meetings, live theatre, art galleries, decorators' showcases, antiques and offices. Our unique facility can serve all this and more. Take a look at The Factory in its days as a bustling, working factory, then embark on a photographic tour of its renovation and transformation to the diverse and vibrant shopping and entertainment complex it is today.

I love the Factory and its boutique-style shops. This is not a typical mall and it is such a fun place to shop in downtown Franklin. It was a factory many years ago so it provides a unique and fun shopping atmosphere. Now it hosts shops and restaurants and is also a music venue. Unfortunately, I've never eaten here or... More

This building was an old factory back in the day. It's very old with high ceilings and concrete floors and is a great p,ace to spend the morning having coffee, shopping in the boutique type stores and then having lunch. There are several restaurants and great shops. It's a great place to go any day but a really fun place... More

This was a former oven factory as well as other uses before and after. It now houses some great shops including an antique store, children's shop, vinyl record shop as well as home decorating shops. It has a couple of restaurants along with Five Daughter's Bakery and Honest Coffee Shop. On Wednesday nights, a live performance of Music City Roots... More

My wife and I just moved to the Franklin, TN area and had heard about The Factory from some friends. We visited it a couple of weeks ago. Not as big as I had hoped but I'm sure that we will return. We visited in the middle of the week so it was not very crowded. Several interesting merchants with... More

We wanted a to get away from the tourist traps of Nashville for a day. Franklin is a quiet town but has some interest. My husband plays the guitar and sings back home and I thought the Artisan Guitars would be a different place to go. They carry handcrafted guitars, mandolins and ukuleles. The owner and clerks were very friendly... More

Having been told to make this one of my stops by a friend who knows me well, I'm sure glad I got there early! This is a true southern charm in the heart of Tennessee! From the fresh cold press juice of Franklin, to the stroll through the market itself- one can't imagine how this area is thriving without seeing... More

If you are just window shopping you've found where to go but if you are trying to buy reasonably or for resale... move on... We've visited the past two summers and probably won't return. Not worth the time unless you just need an inside area to beat the heat and be inside. Desk staff is too busy talking on the... More

Hi there, thanks so much for your feedback. Our front desk staff handles all walk in and phone inquiries, and they are often trying to do both at once. We are very sorry if you felt our attention was not fully on you, that is not representative of The Factory and we hope you'll come back in and give it... More

Lot less shops than when I 've visited previously. Interesting bakery. No shops upstairs. Would recommend downtown Franklin instead for boutique shops.
