About
Happy WOWs! The Bark Park is an independent private gallery exclusively masterminded for its supporters. The Bark Park is not a shop: donations are expected for just-looking, browsing & outside window-shopping. If you don't intend to contribute the Bark Park is simply not for you & easy to avoid. There are 4 ways to visit: 1) Un-notified outside snooping: Place £1pp donations as soon as you arrive in the red heart-shaped caskets & Enjoy! Heartfelt Thanks. Warning! Stalkers Prosecuted 24/7 HD-CCTV cameras. 2) Notified outside visits: SMS password "Land ahoy!" state arrival time & agree collection of your Treasure Map - PayPal £1pp can be claimed back if you later opt for the 5 star tour. 3) Notified walk-through-gates visits: SMS password "Open Sesame!" £10 PayPal donation five people max or add £2 for each more person - 15 mins. 4) The TripAdvisor 5 star guided tour by Denis in person - read guestbook comments: SMS password "Happy WOWs!" £65 - 1 to 2 hrs. Heartfelt Thanks. Happy WOWs!

Terrible experience
Dec 2020 • Family
Terrible experience. The owner was very arrogant and forthcoming. I was just a passer by with my daughter who is a kid and naturally she was impressed by the building and stopped to have a look. Suddenly the man has sternly asked if we have made a donation as otherwise we are not to look. I am part of Dalgety bay community and felt it was a terrible approach from the owner’s side especially as I had a kid with me.

I agree with the previous negative comment and would like to add - you cannot stop for passers by looking. It is rude to treat people this way and especially with kids. Kids cannot help it. I have considered donation but having been approached this way not only I will avoid this place in the future but will discourage others from going. If you wish people from looking how about you build a fence to cover the structure.

Thanks

The lady who left this review is the same lady mentioned in the "Dunfermline Press" article titled (on the paper version) "Bark Park creator criticises trippers who insist they are ‘Just Looking’" published on 2021.03.18. The article title might be different on the online version. This lady leaves a review after peeping inside the Bark Park and attempting to take a picture of the attraction: “without having either made a donation to the casket at their feet or booked to visit my Bark Park.” A few seconds later, when I noticed that she pulled out her camera to take a picture of my private property and without permission, I called her attention. She had not noticed that I was working on the Pirate Nest at the time, at 12 meters height. In her review she doesn't mention any of this conversation we had. Dear lady, you cannot go round pointing your smartphone to anything you see. Imagine a peeping Tom coming to take pictures of your daughter while she is walking on the streets. Would you like that? And then, would you like it if the same peeping Tom would write a public review about you being the “Abusive Mother” instead? But this is what you are doing with me Dear Lady. Our conversation is recorded on my cameras and you can hear exactly what I was saying. Her story does not match what happened. The YouTube video which recorded our conversation is publicly available and it’s titled: “2021.02 Tripadvisor Terrible experience: Lady & Daughter attempt taking picture without permission”. The YouTube description includes the script of our conversation: "Hello! Did you ask permission for the picture?" To which she asked me back: "Can I take a picture then?" and I replied "No! No! You can't! I didn't see you putting a donation! Did you?". Heartfelt ❤️ Thanks Denis Carbonaro Multimedia Inventor at the Bark Park in Dalgety Bay

Cause for concern
Jun 2020 • Friends
This review is written with the best intentions and with concern for the owner!! Walked passed this garden today and wasn't sure if it was open to the public...
I thought kids would like it and would have considered finding out if it could be booked.....Well the owner took great dislike to the fact we had stopped to look and told us to move on (very angrily I must say) He advised that if we gave a donation we could look and he was fed up of having NO privacy in his own garden! His demeanour, actions and rudeness gave me cause for concern. I see from this site he does give tours!!! During this pandemic I'm sure things have been tough for lots of people and I feel sorry for this man. This is my opinion but either he wants people to see and visit his garden or he wants total privacy!! I'm afraid creating a place of interest means people will stop on a busy street to look and get further information. I did not have any cash on me and I'm afraid even if I did I wouldn't have given anything after the way to spoke to us.
He was angry, aggressive and to be honest I was worried!
I would therefore NOT recommend anyone visit unless of course we just got him on a VERY bad day and this it not his normal behaviour

Please refer to "Dunfermline Press" article titled on the newspaper "Bark Park creator criticises trippers who insist they are ‘Just Looking’" and published on 2021.03.18. The article title might be different on the online version. Some quotes from the "Dunfermline Press" article here to follow: “Out of context, like when away from shops, the ‘Just Looking' excuse is not always as "just' as it may look”. "The Bark Park is not a shopping centre. If you choose to come to enjoy this inspiring dimension, remember that, just like swans expect and need bread, the Bark Park expects and needs donations. It is not rocket science. It's called sustainability.” "If you forget your donations at home, please postpone your ‘Unjust Looking’ visit to another day.” "My privacy has also the right to be left in peace, unless you are bringing sustainability in the appropriate heartfelt caskets." Can I get back to work now? Heartfelt ❤️ Thanks Denis Carbonaro Multimedia Inventor at the Bark Park in Dalgety Bay

What an exquisite and inventive mind Denis has! Unfortunately as we arrived for our tour there was a dramatic thunderstorm and so we weren’t able to see the Bark Park’s main attractions. We were however welcomed in to see where a truly unique world is dreamt up and designed. We will be back and hopefully have more luck with the weather!

Thank you for the Happy Wows!

I've been meaning to stop into the Bark Park for months. Finally we decided to surprise our friends and we went en masse to visit Denis and Haggis.

What Denis has created is simply sensational. I remain in awe of his mind. Seriously! We were shown around his workshop as he introduced his prototypes and then they came to life as we travelled from his front garden through to the Bark Park.

Haggis and Denis together create lots of Happy Wows and make their guests feel so totally welcome. And inspired.

He tells a beautiful story involving a pirate ship,a spider and an octopus. I know. It sounds like something straight out of a Greek myth. Please go and visit yourself to see what Denis has created in what is,essentially a residential street in Dalgety Bay. Since our visit,Denis and Haggis are frequent topics of conversation in our house.

LOTS OF HAPPY WOWS! 🤘💖

Thoroughly enjoyed our visit to The Bark Park where we met the very talented and creative Denis Carbonaro and of course the brilliant and very funny Haggis!. Such a magical place right on our doorstep. Denis made us feel very welcome, my 2 boys were fascinated and enjoyed hearing all about the creations. Kieran (11yrs) has been inspired and is now keen to make his own wooden staff just like Haggis! Sam (10yrs) loved the welcome we got from Haggis, and feeding the treasure chest. The giant spider and woody mammoth are my favourites. Definitely worth a visit.

Huge sculptures, installations and inventions of beauty. Crossing technical materials with natural ones and salvage Denis' work is fascinating, his hosting and stories are great and its an honestly magical attraction and great for any age. Unexplainable and must be seen to be believed.

Dear Keepscreamin', I am not easily impressed myself. This is a fundamental ingredient to all of my recipes. The first fan of his work is the creator himself. I think this applies to any field. Any creative work should express what inspires the creator. I seem to taste this same ingredient in your band's music. I have already listened to all of your tracks on Spotify and I was impressed. I trust you are on the path of some truly inspiring original concepts yourselves. I think Screamin' Whisper has inspired the Bark Park to consider adding a layer of Music. Of good Wow! Music to the Bark Park dimension. Maybe we could collaborate in one of your videos, or, one of your album covers? A five stars T*H*A*N*K*U Denis & Haggis

Well, visited today with my son and nephew, both young adults, what can I say about Dennis? Well photographs can't do justice to this man's wonderful talent, so you just need to go and see for yourself, truly amazing concept, and place. An incredible gem in the Kingdom of Fife. Thank you Dennis I will be back to see the work in progress. Ciara

Dear Ciara, As an ex digital multimedia engineer who spent years trying to squeeze a false sense of 'reality' in those uncomfortable cages called screens, when I hear you saying that photographs can't do justice, I feel a great sense of achievement now that we agree, reality is far superior than any virtual reality and deep inside I hope the Bark Park can inspire people to abandon those cages called screens more often and live the real world instead. A five gems T*H*A*N*K*U dear Ciara. Nice meeting you and your boys. Happy Wows! Denis

Dear Dawn, I'm so very pleased to hear you found the tour captivating and exciting. I enjoyed meeting you all too. And children's Wows! are truly inspiring! I do read these comments now and again as they add an extra gear to anything I'm working on, like a sort of soul fuel. A giant five stars T*H*A*N*K*U! Happy Wows! Denis & Haggis
