This is a great small town museum, located towards downtown Cleveland. I came here on a Saturday morning with a friend, neither of us ever having visited before. Once inside, we met Dale, who gave us the layout of the museum, with information about the current exhibits and what to look out for. She was very knowledge and all around just a fun person. In fact, everyone who works at the museum was very friendly and more than willing to help with anything visitors might need. I enjoyed seeing the exhibit that showed the old kitchen equipment of years past, as well as the stuffed and mounted animals as part of the taxidermy exhibit, many of which were wild species not found in the USA. I enjoyed my visit to the Cleveland Museum and would suggest it to visitors and life-long Cleveland residents alike.

The museum has been here about 11 years. It has a permanent exhibit of local (area) history...prehistoric to modern times. There are wonderful temporary exhibits of many types. The annual quilt show is about to start.
The museum is also used for social events: weddings, plays, parties, fund raisers, etc. Great staff and volunteers. You will enjoy it. There is also an awesome gift shop consisting of a variety of lovely items by area artists.

We were in town for a Saturday afternoon wedding, and were looking for something to do for a few hours in the morning. We decided to go to the museum because it was also located within easy walking distance (2 blocks) of the Five Point Square Restaurant that we planned to eat at.

Having read other reviews on TripAdvisor, and coming from the Chicago area where our museums are world-renowned, we weren't sure what to expect from such a small place, but were pleasantly surprised. They don't have huge exhibits, but what they featured were nicely done. I particularly enjoyed the display about the history of Cleveland, and the efforts being made to improve the area downtown. It was great to see them actively asking for suggestions and feedback from the public. My spouse found the Khirbet el-Maqatir: History of a Biblical Site artifact exhibit to be very interesting, too.

We were in the building over an hour, and would have spent even more time in the museum and store, except we were cold, and had neglected to wear long sleeves or bring sweaters/jackets (It was over 90 degrees outside.) I wanted to suggest that they might be able to save some money on the cost of air conditioning, too, The employee in the gift shop, however, said that as part of their affiliation with the Smithsonian, they are required to maintain certain environmental conditions and temperatures to help preserve the exhibits. Next time, we'll know to come better prepared!

In the future, we hope the museum will consider opening on Sunday afternoons. It seems like a place that more people, both locals and visitors, can enjoy.

Smallish museum spotlighting Cleveland/Bradley County history, along with some 'temporary' exhibits. Friendly, neat, clean. Admission is only $5

While the displays are rather small, you can still learn alot about the area from this little local history gem. There are lots more things to find and enjoy in the gift shop. The staff is just excellent!

This museum has a permanent display of the history and culture of the Cleveland area. There is a beautiful hand-carved Indian Head statue outside that has a story of it's own. They frequently have temporary exhibits such as many unique hand-made quilts. They sponsor fun and educational activities and camps for kids, and our family always enjoys viewing the pumpkin carving contest entries at the museum during the Cleveland Block Party at Halloween. The Cleveland story-tellers also share stories at various times, including the Halloween events.

This is a small, but interesting museum. It took us about an hour to go through, but that's only because we took full advantage of everything the museum had to offer. There are a lot of hands on activities that we enjoyed even though they're probably really there for the kids. We watched all the videos and stopped to read every bit of information that was available. We walked away with some fun facts that we didn't already know. I would definitely recommend this museum to friends looking to kill time on a rainy day. Make sure you check out the gift shop which is filled with beautiful pieces from local artists.
