When we visited in April, the Visitors' Center was being redone. At that time, there was just one bathroom available near the picnic tables. We thought there would be more hiking trails in the area, but we did enjoy the views. We had our picnic lunch on one of the tables. it was not crowded on a weekday afternoon in... More

A nice place to fish (catfish that is) Took the grandsons and they loved it. Spent the whole day. Took the Motor Home and my wife took breaks while we fished. Not many people were there that day. They have on sight security and we felt very comfortable. You could do many things there, ride bikes, camp on around past... More

Wow, what a place to go walking/hiking. I have been there a few times walking the main road (about 2.5 miles) around. This is the resovoir that is used to generate electricity during peak times, It's located on top of Raccoon mountain!. There are several places to park and they do have a small park on top on the west... More

This was a find at the recommendation from a guide at Racoon Mountain. So glad we ventured out to the damn. This was very interesting for the drive, sights, and views were soooo beautiful!!! The visitors center was closed but the gate guard was so nice to give us a brief explanation of the areas and info about the TVA.... More

This area is awesome for road biking. Traffic is minimal during the week and the road quality is excellent. Great views and great places to stop for a rest. Just be aware that your speeds can exceed 40 mph easily, so make sure you have good tyres, and great braking.

This is a good choice to get a good view from the mountain without all the traffic of Lookout Mountain. Visitor center is currently closed, but lots of nice hiking and biking trails

We really enjoyed going up there - and although the Visitor Center is being refurbished right now the area is still worth a visit - clean restrooms and beautiful picnic area available - nice and relaxing just to take in the scenery!!

A relative living in Chattanooga took me to this place. I never knew it existed, and yet it is just a few minutes from Chattanooga. Great views. Lots of very interesting information about the TVA and about this particular pumping station reservoir. Lots of walking and biking trails. The rock dam holding back the lake water was amazing.

My husband had to work here for a couple of days to a week. So my son and I decided to take a trip and see what he was seeing. We loved the view and will to back from time to time when were back in town.
