At one time, I’m sure Sir Gooney’s was a good place to go to, but I doubt that it has ever been renovated or even repaired since that time. When it was first built, I’m sure that its go-kart track, slick track, batting cages, bumper boats, laser tag, and creative 18 hole putt-putt course were great, but since then they have become too run down to spend your time and money on. Go to some of the other, more worthwhile, Chattanooga attractions.

This was a disappointment. There are not many choices when it comes to mini golf in Chattanooga. This place was out by the airport and in back of a Hooters. It was fairly easy to find, but overall very rundown. There are 2 courses, a go cart track, bumper boats, and game room. The property is very old and needs to be totally re-done. Buildings and structures on the course need to be torn down and re-done. Was $7.95 for an adult and $5.95 for a child. It seems like who ever owns the property is just stuck in a rut or using it for a tax write off. Several of the holes could not even be played because of water build up and a smell. Just a shot in the dark we went here, but save your money for a nice trip to the aquarium.

Sir Goony's Family Fun Center of Chattanooga, Inc. has been a landmark business for over 50 years. We do annual maintenance on our family fun center and we have made many renovations throughout the years. We are currently renovating inside and outside for our 2014 season which will include a new THRILL ride!
I am so sorry to hear that your visit in July was disappointing. As I stated, we are currently remodeling inside and outside. The two highly themed golf courses are getting some repairs with carpet & paint. I will certainly check the golf holes for water build up. Thank you for bringing that to our attention.
Your review does not mention our latest addition of Spin Zone Bumper Cars or our multiple speed Batting Cages that can be set for all skills and abilities.
Please do visit again this summer to check out our renovations and our new THRILL ride for 2014. Also, be sure to ride the Spin Zone Bumper Cars. Sometimes you drive it and sometimes it drives you!
Thank you for your business and I hope you will enjoy your next visit to Sir Goony's Family Fun Center of Chattanooga, Inc.

Visited this past Sunday. Although the golf courses are slightly dated they have character. It was clean and we had fun.
The go carts are pretty cool. They are electric and have a sound system to make them go vroom vroom ha. Not the fastest but fast enough and no gas which is cool.
Batting cages were batting cages.
Spin zone bumper cars are outside and are fun enough but the lazer fury attraction was really cool. It is a round bumper car with a tilt a whirl cage on top so you can spin and flip 360 degrees in any direction. There is a lazer tag gun mounted on top, LED lights music, targets on the walls ceilings. Crazy cool attraction. I asked and was told the owner is actually the inventor and they are the first place in the world to have the attraction which is now award winning and being set up all over the world. Props to the owner for that.
The game room was not huge but bug enough. (Maybe 30 or so games.) They had pretty much all newer machines. We frequent alot of game rooms so I am pretty familiar with arcade games and they didn't really have any old games. They have a four player air hockey which was different but we had some serious comps on that baby. Other cool games Dead Storm Pirates, flappy tickets, connect 4, They had ice ball and a ton of other cool games. I don't know what happened to some of the other reviewers here but we had only one problem with a game not giving tickets which was corrected immediately (out of tickets) we were our tickets plus a couple of tokens. Lots of prizes to choose from.
The employees were not terrible, they were young. They just needed guidance or motivation but they helped us the only time we needed it and were very friendly while we were taking forever to pick our prizes.
I hate to see a chattanooga staple get a bad rap because one guy gets all pissy when his kid loses a coin or something. This place was packed out so I don't doubt that there are problems with stuff sometimes. But people don't care that these people are trying to make a living too. If you go to an amusement park and expect everything to go perfectly you are going to be disappointed every time. This place was fun and clean and we had a great day.

Very run down, staff was unfriendly. We paid for golf and go carts. It rained for about 8 minutes and the shut the go carts down for safety reasons, which I understand. The rained stopped and the course dried, they never open the course back up and refused to give us a refund. I asked could we use the money for the games and was told no, they didnt own the games. So we left losing about 60.00 that was paid for the go carts. Very poor management.

The cashier sold us go-cart tickets as it was beginning to rain. When we approached the go-cart track, we were informed the track was closed. We immediately returned inside and the manager refused a refund. We were a party of 10.

We bring our church youth group from Huntsville to Chattanooga every year and Sir Gooneys is a favorite stop. A few years ago it did need work but the last few years we noticed all new go-carts, batting cages and the golf was all cleaned up and looking good, retro but really good. The game room is really nice and the people were the best.
I mean they went out of their way for us and thats why I am defending this place. We were held up at dinner and arrived 15 minutes before closing. It was like 10:45 pm and the place had been very busy from the looks of the amount of trash the workers were taking out of the place.
They stayed open an extra hour and we had a blast.
Not a new place but a good one.
Give it a shot.

My family of 5 attended this establishment on April 1st, and I would not recommend this business to any one. Less than half of the attractions were working. There were not that many people there and we had to wait for 45 minutes for my two sons to ride the laser ride. My youngest son and I waited 20 minutes for his to ride the bumper cars, and no one showed up. The staff was rude and lazy. So needless to say he was upset. The mini golf only had one course open, and the obstacles ate three out of the five golf balls, making it impossible for all of us to play the game. I will never go back. The only reason why I put a 1 is because it would not let me give them a ZERO.

We found a coupon online and tried to use it and was told there were exclusions and that they would not honor their own coupon. I read the fine print on the coupon and nowhere on it did it list any exclusions. We rode the bumper boats and 2 out of 6 did not work. We decided to play some video games and the games either took our tokens or did not print out our tickets. One game in particular Key Master was horrible. My son was able to get the key in the hole and win a prize but the machine did not dispense the prize. We wanted to ride the Laser 360 ride and to begin with they were out of commission. When we were finally able to ride Laser 360 one of the modules broke down mid ride. For what this establishment charges you would think it would put some money back into the rides and entertainment.

We visited Sir Goony's yesterday afternoon and will not go back! Not sure about the other review posted but here is what we experienced... It is 'run downed' and worn out! I don't think they have done anything in the past 20 years. Carpet is sticking up all over, worn out carpet, ridges and divets were many, lost golf balls inside the statues-you hit the ball and it never comes out-had to go get 2 new balls, some holes the statue had moving parts that no longer worked so you couldn't even hit on that hole, etc. I had high hopes for this place since it is close by and we use to love it. I will not go back! ~ visited July 5, 2012

Ok, I have been to tons of mini golf places and truthfully this course is very fun to play. The entire course is custom made. Yes it is a little rustic, but not the usual sterile, out of the box purchased courses that look brand new, but are lame holes. Nothing was broken, carpet not ripped, some of the lg structures have been repainted and some will be. There are 2 18 hole courses and each hole has some kind of huge animal, reptile, structure, water, ramps, etc.. the place is quirkey.... but mini golf bumper boats and adults is go carts ARE QUIRKEY.
My eldest had fun with the $10 in tokens we gave him. $20 will get you 100 tokens. Video games were mostly 4 tokens, skeeball was 1 Token. Tickets are given out to redeem for prizes. Basic snack bar.
This family fun center is just like the game centers out in Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg. Hokey, but kids 6 & 12 both had fun and my husband and I ruthlessly competed to the end. I can see us returning next time we are in Chattanooga.
