Known as “America’s Most Amazing Mile,” The Incline’s trolley-style cars climb through the natural beauty surrounding historic Lookout Mountain at a breathtaking 72.7% grade – straight up! Sit back, relax and enjoy the scenic views of the mountains and valleys from the observation windows on the train as well as the panoramic views from the observation tower at The Incline’s top station. And while you’re up top, be sure to visit the many points of Civil War interest, the Battles for Chattanooga Electric Map & Museum and Point Park, part of the Chickamauga -Chattanooga National Military Park system, just a few short blocks from the Incline top station. Then, after you descend back down to the Incline bottom station, explore historic St. Elmo, where a wonderful collection of unique shopping and dining experiences await you.

This was our second time visiting the railway, but it doesn't look as though much has been done to spruce up the cars since we visited 15 years ago. The cars could use some attention - we arrived just after a rain shower and there...More

The scenery and the train ride was great but the interior of the cars was dingy and definitely was in need of a facelift. Overall, sufficient for the price.

Was exactly what it says it is. Interesting but not wowing. As we lowered down the railway, looking forward you could see small parts of Chattanooga but very little due to trees that were heavily overgrown limiting the view. It was educating during the down...More

Used the Railway to ride to the top of Lookout Mountain and then did the walk around the summit. Excellent views and a beautiful cool breeze blowing on an otherwsie hot day.

Really nice ride up the mountain. Was able to walk in town before boarding. Up top there is a lookout & you can see the machine room.

Amazing view! You can drive to top but have to plug parking meters. Or park at bottom for couple of bucks. Either way your going round trip. Interesting history & amazing views. I think fall would be the best time for views.
