This historic spot which, today, is a pleasant riverside park, is thought to be the place where, in 1838, members of the Cherokee Nation waded across the river from their homeland during, what has been called. the "Trail of Tears". It also marks the spot where the city of Chattanooga was established in 1839, when the first American settlers changed the name from Ross's Landing to Chattanooga. Look out for the very interesting statue "Cherokee" at the junction of Chestnut Street and Riverfront Parkway.

This is the site of the best rowing regatta around. Perfect set up for a regatta, plus a welcoming city that is awesome to its visitors- can't be beaten.

Just steps from the Aquarium is a great park right on the River. The kids will love sliding down the hills on cardboard slides while the parents relax with peaceful river views. You may see the River Gorge Explorer embark on a cruise or maybe the Southern Belle will pass buy on a dinner cruise.

This park is waaaaay too close to the trafficky road! The ramp that goes up to the playground equipment is literally 4 feet away from the road! A child could run down and be in the middle of the traffic before anyone would be able to catch it. They should seriously consider completely fencing in the playground area! Seriously, who puts a park between a huge deep river and a very busy street? Someone with absolutely no common sense!

If you are at the Aquarium already, this is definitely worth the walk across the street. It's nicely done and has some beautiful views.

My wife and I spent part of an afternoon just leisurely browsing this area. This is a newly renovated park located across from the Tennessee Aquarium featuring a river pier, a marina, a natural amphitheater and the Chattanooga Green. There is also a public boat landing area at Ross's Landing. Ross's Landing in Chattanooga, Tennessee, is the site of the original settlement of Chattanooga and is considered to be the embarkation point of the Cherokee removal on the Trail of Tears. Ross's Landing is memorialized at Ross's Landing Riverfront Park on the banks of the Tennessee River where the city of Chattanooga was established. It is listed the National Register of Historic Places.

We spent a few hours on our last day of our mini anniversary weekend just relaxing on the grass by the river. We "people watched" and read a few chapters of a new book. It was so nice to just watch the clouds, water and people on the water (and people crossing the bridge). It made for a great Sunday.

Family area with many paths for running, walking, biking. This is a happening spot during Spring & Summer. Chattanooga's one week music festival, River Bend, also takes place in this area of town.

I love ross's landing. It is a great place to tie the boat up so you can run up the hill and grab a pizza at mellow mushroom or have jimmy johns delivered so you can get back to fishing.
