The views from the mountain are spectacular and I recommend taking the incline railroad up to the top of the mountain. For history buffs there are several neat civil war areas to see and a electronic reenactment of the battle for lookout mountain.

The views are beautiful. However, I would recommend purchasing tickets online to save money as this is a simple enjoyment type trip with Rock City appealing more to young ones with the fairy tail creatures, and the lookout along the mountains appealing to adult. Whole tour might take you 30min to an hour.

Beautiful views, winding trails and plenty of photo opportunities for families. Budget some time if your children like to look at everything - there are lots!

We loved Lookout Mountain! There was plenty to do to keep us occupied for the price, and we would certainly return if we were in the area again. The view was incredible, especially since it was clear and sunshiny the day of our visit.

Drove up to the top where you can go to the tower and lookout with the binoculars.Big and beautiful house nicely landscaped. There a battlefield? We didnt go. There a little Shoppe on the road. Went on to the Shoppe where you can buy tickets to go on the mt. Ride. We went on the incline train ride, when you... More

When you think of Lookout Mountain, one thinks of the Civil War, Bottled Coca-Cola, Moon-Pies, and vistas across the great Tennessee Valley.... One thing for sure, it is not only an attraction for History, it is one of hiking, bird watching, neighborhood architecture, urban planning, the origins of the University of the South and, there are those entrapment's of Ruby...
