Not to be missed. There are so many attractions on and near the mountain. Pace yourself and enjoy each one.

When you think of Lookout Mountain, one thinks of the Civil War, Bottled Coca-Cola, Moon-Pies, and vistas across the great Tennessee Valley.... One thing for sure, it is not only an attraction for History, it is one of hiking, bird watching, neighborhood architecture, urban planning, the origins of the University of the South and, there are those entrapment's of Ruby... Lookout Mountain is only accessible through admission into Rock City which is a park made up of big boulders that are easy to walk through and access! While my description might sound bland but is really a great photo op & a neat place to go to with your friends/family or by yourself! It only takes about 3-4 hours to... More

This was a fun, self-guided walk on a man-made walkway in the midst of natural rock formations. We had a group of 12 year old boys with us, and we all enjoyed the walkway, swinging bridge, and views of the surrounding area from the top.

Lookout Mountain is a great place for families and couples alike. Ruby Falls and Rock City offers,,many surprises besides the main attractions. It's a must see in a casual southern hospitality setting. Don't miss the characters and fairytale museum and exhibitions in Rock city. Simply fantastical setting of characters in a Rock Garden maze of beauty.

Took the Incline Railway up approximately 1 mile above sea level. It move about 600' per minute and it takes about 10 minutes to get to the top. The views from the top are spectacular. The only thing that could improve the experience would be to have the railway air conditioned. It was very hot in there.
