Make sure you go across the road at the top of the dam! Fantastic views of both the river and lake. Nice park to have lunch at the end of the road.

Because the greater area had had a large amount of rain this year, and particularly this summer, the creeks and rivers are flowing full. The water is beautiful and a visit to the dam is a terrific thing to do.

Great place to loose your thoughts and just enjoy the moment. always cooler than the surrounding area because of the cool water coming form the lake. Early in the morning or late in the evening you may get to se wild turkey or deer.

If you looking for a nice place for a small family picnic, or just a nice cool walk around the water the go to the dam. The tout fishing is pretty good also.

This is a very nice park. It has a 1.5 mile walk around an island, excellent fishing spots and a picnic area. It is a safe and relaxing location for a family outing.

Our family visited South Holston Lake on Father's Day and had an excellent time. The lake was somewhat busy, but with the adjacent major TVA lake, Boone, drawn down, South Holston makes for a great alternative. The views from the lake near the dam are...More

I live very close to the dam and I love the water so I am at the dam/lake all the time. I enjoy every part of the lake from swimming fishing boat riding, the people, picnicking, camping, marvelous sunsets and the calming of mother nature.
