About
Located close to Afionas, this double beach is a popular day trip spot, loved for its seclusion, lush green hills, and clear waters that are great for snorkeling. To get to the beach, you can take a boat or pedalo from Agios Georgios Pagon, or embark on a 20-minute downhill hike from Afionas. There aren't amenities by the beach so load up on food, refreshments, and sunblock—there's not much shade as well. It gets pretty busy in summer, so get there early if you want to snag a good spot. You can explore Porto Timoni and Corfu's less accessible beaches on a beach tour, which usually covers transport. – Tripadvisor

    must see
Beautiful beach, the most beautiful I saw in Corfu. It is possible to access it via a very steep stone ramp, which takes around 40 minutes, but it is worth it. the climb is more accessible. it has a fabulous view. the turquoise tones almost come together with the emerald ones. the water temperature is cold. It is possible to go by boat to Agios Georgios.

First place in the ranking on "Corfu beaches"
The most beautiful beach we found. The walk is challenging, but doable as long as it's not in the middle of the day... the view, the water, the atmosphere... priceless. Ah..If you want to stay all day, bring water and food, because there is nothing down there...and the sun is beating down!!!! A MUST SEE

Beautiful but beware of the way!
Porto Timoni Beach is really one of the most beautiful beaches you can visit in Corfu and should be on the must-do list during a holiday. The beach can be reached from Afionas. There are also parking spaces, for which a fee of between 5€ and 8€ is payable. From there you have to walk about 20 - 30 minutes via a tramp path to the beach. Attention!: We would definitely recommend wearing sturdy footwear and we were not aware of how difficult the road to the beach actually is. If you are not well on your feet, you should really think about it carefully. The path is full of scree and sometimes really steep which makes it not easy to come down. On the way we also go to a viewpoint, which is definitely highly recommended (see pictures). Conclusion: Porto Timoni Beach should definitely be seen. If you are not so good on your feet, you can also reach the beach by renting a boat. For us a clear recommendation!

    Nice beach and great views
Recommend hiking to the farther beach as the first two get crowded by 10am or so. The more remote beach stayed quiet until the early afternoon and was very beautiful. Watch out for some of the trash/toilet paper left on the trail by the main beaches.

    Stunning beach but be prepared.
We had seen that it is a long walk to this beach but honestly it is more of a hike! We were fit enough to do it but still struggled especially in the heat. Once we were down there it is an absolutely stunning beach it feels like you're in Fiji, it did get very very busy so I would go early so you can get a spot as the actual beach itself is quite small.

Amazing views on the hike down
We parked up the top of Afionas and walked down but be prepared it is a hike and closed in shoes would be the more appropriate. You get some great views from the hike down. You can get a water taxi there and back if you didn't fancy the hike, so we hiked down and water taxi back and then they get a taxi to take you back to the highest point to get your car, the price of the water taxi can be haggled too. When you get to Porto Timoni be prepared for very fresh cold water in the bay, take some goggles to see the fish. You can also do some padel boarding and peddloes if you wanted to. Take water shoes to help your feet with the stones. The beach does get very very busy though. The water itself is clear and beautiful and you can get some fab pictures. Worth staying no more than around 2 hours.

    Beautiful landscapes
(Personnel not very nice) 10€ the nearest car park to Afionas (small town before Porto Timoni) 5€ a little lower. The restaurant Afionas just before the descent and very good and the setting is superb. The ladies of the little Shop before the descent are super nice and the Award is very correct feel free to take water. Winding downhill, take about 20/30 minutes to descend (to avoid the elderly and young children) the road is quite wild and there are many people in August. But it's really worth it the ride is superb! The beach on the other hand crowded, almost impossible to put a towel down. I enjoyed hiking much more than the beach itself. I recommend!

    Good experience
We arrived in Porto Timoni at 10:30 already quite a lot of people to park. There is 2 parking, one has 5€ and another higher 10€. Otherwise hopefully there is also free parking. We still have to find a place. Be careful the path is very very steep. You have to have good shoes. Moreover for children it is rather complicated. It takes 20/25 minutes to get off. Beautiful scenery on the way to the beaches. Once down, there are quite a few people on both beaches. But the detour is worth it. It is beautiful. Preferably not too late in the morning. To go up, it’s very hot but it’s not as complicated as we think

A Hidden Paradise: The Breathtaking Beauty of Porto Timoni Beach in Corfu
Porto Timoni Beach in Corfu is an absolute paradise that offers one of the most stunning and unique beach experiences on the island. This double-sided beach, located near the charming village of Afionas, is truly a hidden gem that feels like a secret escape into nature. The journey to Porto Timoni is an adventure in itself. A scenic hike down a well-marked trail from Afionas takes you through lush greenery and offers breathtaking views of the coastline, building anticipation for the incredible sight that awaits you. As you reach the bottom, you’re greeted by two beautiful coves, each with its own distinct charm, separated by a narrow strip of land. The crystal-clear waters of Porto Timoni are simply mesmerizing, with shades of blue and green that change as the sunlight shifts throughout the day. The beaches are pebbly, adding to the natural feel of the place, and the water is perfect for swimming, snorkeling, or just cooling off after the hike. Because Porto Timoni is more secluded and requires a bit of effort to reach, it tends to be less crowded than other beaches on the island, giving you a sense of tranquility and exclusivity. What makes Porto Timoni truly special is its untouched, pristine beauty. There are no large developments, sunbeds, or crowds—just the raw, natural landscape and the sound of the waves gently lapping against the shore. It’s a place where you can disconnect from the hustle and bustle of daily life and simply enjoy the stunning surroundings. For those who love adventure, exploring the surrounding area by kayak or paddleboard is highly recommended. The coves and hidden caves around the beach are a delight to discover, adding an extra layer of excitement to your visit. In summary, Porto Timoni Beach is a must-visit for anyone in Corfu looking to experience a piece of untouched paradise. Its unique double-cove layout, crystal-clear waters, and serene atmosphere make it one of the most beautiful and memorable spots on the island. Whether you’re an adventurer, a nature lover, or simply seeking a peaceful escape, Porto Timoni will leave you with unforgettable memories. Highly recommended!

The place is postcard-perfect, but with many pros and cons. We were based in Agios Georgios, where you can take a boat for 15.00 euros, but we preferred to reach the top of the hill in Afionas (about 15 min.) to enjoy the view from above. We arrived at the last parking lot (the most expensive, 10,00 euros), from where the road (a real mule track) starts, which descends rather steeply through a walk of about half an hour. At 9.00 am the south beach was already prey to a dozen early risers, while the north one was completely deserted. We took possession of a corner on the far left, which would remain in the shade a longer time, after having carried out a thorough cleaning of our pitch. The total lack of baskets or binders, and the innate rudeness of holidaymakers makes this idyllic place quite dirty. At about 9.30am an uninterrupted stream of people begins occupying every inch of sand, and at 11.00am it is a single human carpet. The scorching sun at noon is relentless, and at that time we abandoned and began the ascent, a real ordeal. Closed shoes, an abundant supply of water, and a couple of stops made it possible to reach the parking lot in about forty minutes. In my opinion the place deserves, as long as you get there early, because later it becomes a carnaio.

Spectacular. We arrived around 11/11 or something in Afionas and we were able to park without problems in the first parking lot we saw. It costs €4 for 2 hours or €5 for the full day. I recommend paying for the full day because going down to the beaches and going up takes more than an hour and swimming is mandatory!!! I have read all kinds of comments about the mini excursion to the beaches. It's not a big deal if you're wearing sneakers or halfway decent shoes. The people who were in flip flops were suffering and many turned away. Going down slowly with sneakers there is no major problem. Halfway down the road are the spectacular views (the photo I posted). Little more to say. If you are in Corfu you have to go

Absolutely must visit place. Best view of Corfu. Once you reach the top of the view point you need to park your car in the car park adjacent to the restaurant. A first panoramic point allows you to have a magnificent view of the coast. An impervious dirt path leads to a viewpoint of Porto Timoni (about 10 minutes with low difficulty - to be done with closed shoes and not slippers or sandals). Continuing the route it is possible to reach the legendary beach. Going up the short trek it is possible to stop at a further view point where you will enjoy a wonderful view of the sunset

For me it turned out to be a disappointment, on the island there are much more beautiful and quieter beaches to spend the day on.
We walked down the path that starts from Afionas, but I strongly advise against it and I say this as a person who really likes walking and hiking (I live in the countryside and regularly go walking in the woods) and who is not discouraged by the efforts physicists.
We decided not to go up on foot because the road is really steep and disconnected, it's not so much the slope or the climb that scared us, but rather the quality of the road, we therefore opted to use the taxi boat+transfer service which takes you back from the beach to the town of Afionas (which is really cute and deserves an extra visit).
In addition to the impervious path, it is a beach where it is difficult to stay and relax, both due to the quantity of people, the continuous presence of boats, and the quality of the cove itself which is full of protruding boulders, however if you want you can for some hours.
It was nice to be able to swim on both beaches, beautiful water especially on the one overlooking the open sea, which is full of fish. The water is cold but once you get used to it the bath is pleasant, I went in immediately after bathing in the other cove, so I was already tempered.
If you want to see it, I recommend the taxi boat service to spend just a couple of hours in Porto Timoni and then relax the rest of the day at Agios Gorgios, the beach from which the boat leaves, which is very quiet and with few people even in August , with equally beautiful and clean sea.

yes, nature lets you grasp all the aspects of a place like Porto Timoni. Let's go step by step: we left the car in the village of Afionas to venture towards Timoni using the path that goes down to the beaches; the first impact was splendid when on one of the highest points we discovered a WONDERFUL view on the western side of Corfu with a view of the islets of Matharaki, Othoni, Erikoussa, Diaplo immersed in the blue Ionian Sea. Then.... the descent became challenging with the path being flat at times and quite rough at times with the soil washed out by the rain and sharp rocks to avoid. Nothing scary, mind you, but, perhaps, we weren't prepared for the situation. However, when you reach the halfway point, your effort is rewarded when the two small beaches of Porto Timoni appear among the trees of the Mediterranean scrub. Enchanting landscape to say the least!

After reading reviews on the “hike” to this beach from Afionas my wife and myself decided to do this as we are both quite fit and agile. We arrived early at Afionas in our car and parked near The Three Brothers taverna. We then followed the signs for the beach. The hike starts with a narrow rocky path and quickly becomes a very steep level of descent. In fact in parts it’s at least a scramble or an easy climb - definitely not a walk by anyone’s standards. We started the hike at 08:00 in mid September and by the time we were half way down we were both quite tired and wet through with sweat as it was by then 31c. We were able to take our time as we were the only people on the track as it was relatively early in the day, a Monday, and it was low season. If there had been other people on the track, and I’ve heard it’s very busy at peak times, the path is so narrow, overgrown and very close to steep cliffs and vertical drops there is no way that anyone would be able to pass others either going in the same direction or coming back up. I’m sure this must cause major problems especially with people having difficulties and others stopping to take photos. To cut a long story short we managed it but we only had a quick look at the beaches and then came straight back up again as we were very concerned about the track becoming busy as the time grew later. To do this hike/scramble you need to be fit, have no health problems or creaky knees, be able to climb over low rocks, obviously take water, obviously wear sturdy shoes/boots and to be honest the beaches are nice but they’re nothing special for the area and there are others that are nicer. It’s an achievement to have done it but the safety aspect needs to be considered. If there was an emergency or even just a sprained ankle you would not be able to make it back up and the emergency services such as they are on Corfu would not be able to get to you. The only option would be a boat from the beach below.
Unless you’re a serious hiker who wants to tick it off your list I’d get a boat taxi from the beach at Aghios Georgios instead. To put it into perspective we both found walking up Mount Snowdon in Wales much easier.

It's nice and you can take some amazing pictures. Now you have to go with mountain shoes, you can not go even with flip-flops because you will see God along the way and with sneakers it makes you a fit....it is a descent of half an hour and just as you have to go down, then you have to go up.... I’ve seen people throwing their lungs in their mouths....I’m from doing mountain routes not wearing good footwear cost me a lot. Once you go down is small the two parts of the place, it is very crowded and you can not be, if you go by boat to see it so well... it goes... on foot it is not worth it, you must go soon in the morning because at noon the heat and the sun that hits is quite strong, bring water and food because there are no chiringuitos, there are too many wasps that throw you into the food as if it were flies, and the water is super cold, I wish I had read this before going yesterday to see it. If you go looking for the photo influencer is full of people you may get it as you may not!

Wonderful panorama, from 'high, mountain-like path to do with shoes absolutely closed, all exposed to the sun, when you get down to Porto Timoni little space and lots of people.... we did another 10 minutes of trail in the middle of tall shrubs, full of human feces and garbage, to get to the beach that you see in front when you are in Porto Timoni... Very few fish, very transparent and warm water, but impossible to stop for more than an hour and you can not eat because you are invaded by wasps... path to the exhausting return. On the way back young boys who felt bad from the too hot and the climb... the place is not worth the effort... much better Limni beach near Paleokastrisa where it seems to be in an aquarium with fish, no wasps...

This is an incredible double beach. It is amazing but quite small so as more and more people arrive it becomes a bit stifling.
I suggest getting there early (6-9am) when you can really enjoy it before the hoards arrive. Maybe late afternoon would be equally as quiet.
The walk down from the village is not for the unfit and took us longer than the stated 20 mins.but I am glad we did it as the views are incredible.
We got the boat home and they take you to the nearest beach and then drive you to your car. It isn't cheap but such a lovely Captain and his wife on the beach is equally great.
Great experience

Arriving in the village at 9:10 a.m., you are directed to the parking lot for €5 for the day. Quickly saturated and possible to park in the street a little further down. But here too places are expensive.
After 25 minutes of very steep descent (we forget the flip-flops!!!), we have the choice between 2 “beaches” (I have to say it quickly…). On the left, less wind...
We place our 5 towels at 9:40 a.m.... on a mixture of earth, stones and a little sand (and still very lucky to have the possibility of sitting on something other than a stone)
At 10 a.m.: no more places.
At 11 a.m.: people continue to arrive in large numbers either via the descent or by the taxi boat which comes from the bay opposite for €10 per person.
At 12 p.m. in front of the crowds and the not very relaxing area, we attack the ascent.. 25 minutes of climbing, fairly fast walking.
A place that deserves no attention except for the view, hikers wanting to sweat, or for an arrival at dawn with a departure from the site at 9 a.m.
