Lots of fun
Apr 2021
Fun and interesting tourist spot. All sorts of stores full of cute and entertaining knick-knacks. They even have stuffed jackalopes, I bought one for my niece on my way to visit. She loved it. I had a great time.

Another tourist attraction to get your money
May 2021 • Couples
This place was huge! Store after store, room after room of toys, clothes, shoes, souvenirs, art, and all the other stuff one can buy at a tourist site. They do have a free cup of ice water and bumper sticker for visitors. There is a cafe and a pharmacy and a photo taking area in the backyard with a jackalope and other things. It was an interesting store but we found the items to be too expensive for us to buy anything.

Covid SuperSpeader = Wall Drugs
Apr 2021
If you value your health, don't go to Wall. No masks, no social distancing, very crowded with non-wearing mask people.

Ride the Jackalope
Mar 2021
A natural place to stop before or after exploring the Badlands. Just after the start of spring 2021, it was not crowded at all. Although I didn't have a problem with the crowd when I visited last time in June, 2019, it was nice to have to share it with just a few people.

Tykeson and girlfriend purchased a few souvenirs at one of the shops. We ate at the cafe - separate review - and took lots of pictures of the various characters sitting on the benches. Since some of us wore masks during the pictures, when we posted to Facebook, the Facebook AI tried to identify the faces of the wooden characters but couldn't identify us.

I like going to the 'Backyard'. The free water fountain was turned off because it was still freezing weather around this time. We took photos of us on the Jackalope, bucking bronco and un frionbt of 'Mt. Rushmore'.

I took a photo of Tykewife sticking her finger in Abe Lincoln's nose - similar to a photo doing the same at one of the gnomes in a Salzburg Austria garden.

A classmate's father published the first postcard of a Jackalope ( it sold millions ) so I always take a picture of me riding the jackalope and show it to her.

Shopping and eats
Aug 2020
I'm glad we stopped. It was very crowded. Just shopping and eats. Nothing special other than knowing it's a landmark.

do stop if driving through - it is so fun
Oct 2020
On our way to Mt Rushmore, Wall Drug is mentioned as a key stop. I know why now - there is nothing near it and when you get to Wall, it is so exciting to have something to see! This is a tourist place but it is a fun one with lots to see (for an hour break). We had breakfast in Wall Drug (coffee and food were unexpectedly good) and then wandered among the different stores. This is not just a drug store - it is like an old Western town general store with different parts selling different items. And there are the most unlikely things scattered about- it really was fun visiting. Not sure why so many are so negative about it - I would not drive out of my way to go to Wall Drug, but if you are passing through it is a great place to stop, have a snack, stretch your legs and enjoy being a tourist.

Honestly? Not worth the time.

It's all about the reputation. You'll spend more time getting there than you will seeing anything interesting. If you just really need to stop at a tourist trap to buy some trinkets, then this is the place. Else, skip it.

Can't Pass it Up
Aug 2020
First of all, there's no way you can't stop. You have to, just one of those things. Like death and taxes. It has its own little charm but it's just not my sort of thing. It's the epitome of a tourist trap but with a little character sprinkled in. If you want a cheesy mass produced souvenir, this is your place. They also have a restaurant, jewelry shops, sundries, famous free water(don't think they are handing it out due to Covid), and a little indoor town like mall. The staff was extremely friendly even when customer demand seemed overwhelming. I'd probably pass by again if I am ever in the area again, you should too, but with low expectations.

Interesting history and piece of Americana...worth a little stop
Jul 2020
After much billboard advertisement and not having heard of this place before our trip, we stopped here and of course went to the cafe. It was typical as in touristy, but there were definitely items available here that you were reflective of the west. With that said, if you want authentic keepsakes, just remember where you bought it and ignore the foreign made in stamps and stickers that overtake our American tourist locations. Some may have been local. It was just interesting...wooden floors, history but after visiting once not the sort of place you'd call a destination spot. Just a nice place to take a lengthy break. And definitely not that you'd find in other places in the US. So...unique. It was a well stocked, there were a lot of tourists getting out in the fresh air in the summer of 2020 which all means there was not a whole lot of "distancing" possible. But it would have been a shame to have passed by without taking a bit of our time to stop in both the drug store and the cafe. I would like to say after reading some of these reviews where people say the staff was not wearing masks, that you can easily look at the photos from 2020 and see a different story. I know this has become something of interest to many these days. We wore masks inside to our table and I can't say I recall noticing a problem.
As for the staff, they were certainly swamped with people from who knows where coming into their area during the midst of COVID...so if some were a bit cranky to some people I can't say I would complain.

Part of my bucket list.

The rock shop was great. Coffee...not so much. Locals don't like masks. There is a boot shop that smells absolutely wonderful. The shop people were very friendly and helpful.
