Worth going to at least once. The performers put a lot of effort into the night and most of the workers are volunteers. It moves along a little slow and the ticket prices are pretty high but nice entertainment for a summer evening.

We had a blast. Those show skiers were amazing. All volunteer staff, several (33 to be exact) have gone on to become world-class water skiers. Huge 4 tiered towers, fly boards, snowmobiles speeding across the water; it was fun. Padded seating not required but nice.

Great fun and what talent in these people! !! Save money by buying them online ahead of time. The clowns added a nice hilarious touch to things. Easy to get to.

I go to catfish bay every year and sometimes multiple times a year! It is an amazing water show and definitely the best H2O show I have ever seen! If you are anywhere in the area I would totally recommend going!. They definitely work their hardest there!!

This show is terrible. They basically take a bunch of kids and a couple of adults and do the same three tricks over and over again. I doubt that any of the kids are paid, they basically force them to work after what I assume are camps that their parents pay for. This is presented as a professional event, but it is anything but.

Dear John H
We are sorry you did not have a good experience at Catfish Bay last year. We have had many great reviews and were the #1 Trip Advisor attraction at the end of the summer in 2013. We have been in operation for over 20 years and have learned we cannot please everyone. With that said we feel a need to clear the record on a few of the key points you made.
1) The statement “basically a bunch of kids and a couple of adults”.
We are a show for the whole family. Our 2013 shows consisted of over 45 live water skiing performers, boat drivers, actors, announcers and more. About 30 of them were adults ages 18 to 55, about 10 were teenagers ages 14 to 18 and only 5 were kids under the age of 14.
2) The statement “do the same three tricks over and over again”.
Our 2013 show consisted of many different types of water skiing acts, stunts and stage performances including barefoot water skiing, human pyramids, water ballet, jumping, wakeboarding, shoe skiing, swivel skiing, adagio doubles, skiing around the boat, slalom skiing, sky skiing and more. It included stunts like driving a snowmobile on the water and high speed boat tricks. We had several different comedy stage routines to compliment the water skiing and further entertain the crowd.
3) The statement “I doubt that any of the kids are paid, they basically force them to work after what I assume are camps that their parents pay for. This is presented as a professional event, but it is anything but” .
We are a family based organization and do not force any of our team members to perform. We have been in operation for over 20 years and have trained over 33 water skier's to ski professionally around the world. These skiers started with our team and were professionally hired for shows around the world including Sea World, Cypress Gardens, Tommy Bartlets and several others in countries like China, Japan, Germany and more. Last year alone we had skiers from our team in Germany, China, Sea World, Lego Land, and Tommy Bartlets.
John H again we are sorry you did not have a good experience we are always looking to improve. If you would like a refund or have other suggestions for improvement please call me personally at 605-330-0700 to discuss the details of the specific show you attended last year.
Thanks & see you on the water,
Jim Bruns

This show was amazing. I went with my grandparents, uncle, aunt and cousin in August 2015. The show had lots of verity, was a nice length and showed a lot of skill. As a former gymnast I can really appreciate the flips and balancing they did. Such great presentation and the huge smiles on the skier's faces showed they really enjoyed what they were doing, which can make all the difference. I didn't think anything could top Mt. Rushmore, zip-lines, go carts or eurobungies, but this topper all that. A little hard to find though.

They even said themselves they aren't professionals. They're all volunteers. They're all about raising money. I'm not sure what it's used for. I don't know if they teach skiing or what. I felt the admission was a little steep. It's $14 for an adult. They did a couple of pyramids and stuff but they almost always fell. They did a couple of jumps. There were a few comedy skits an the beach. The kids really liked them. The highlight of the show was a guy riding some kind of water jet pack towards the end. It went really high and was pretty cool. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying it was a bad show or anything, I just don't think it deserves the #1 spot for performances in Sioux Falls. It's over-rated. I have a feeling it's because the owner got up in front and practically begged the audience to come here and give a 5 star review. They used to have ski shows at the lake in my hometown every summer that were way better. I just want you to know what to expect for your $14 and if you drive any sort of distance to get there. If you think you would like that sort of thing, I could think of a lot worse ways to spend a summer Friday evening. Oh another thing, we're a secular family and didn't really like having to sit there and listen to Christian music before the show and during the intermission. I think they should pick something a little more universal like an easy-listening station or something.

This ski show is a 'must see' for ALL ages! Here you will see a lot of talent on water, both on & off skis. This is better than any other ski show I have ever seen, including the ones in Wisconsin Dells. The intermission entertainment is awesome. What a way to get some good laughs! We have been coming to this show for 20 plus years & it keeps getting better every year. It is well worth the ticket price! Keep up the fantastic show performance @ Catfish Bay!!! Thanks to all of the volunteers for a great job done....

Are the general admission tickets any good? Like non reserved seats? Well I still get a decent spot to be able to see if I don’t pay for the upgraded reserved seats?

Can we bring food to eat? Are there places to buy food items there?
Written August 23, 2018
We do not allow food or coolers into the park. We have a concessions area. Thanks for checking and see you at the show.

You have to pay an entrance fee. You cannot bring your own chairs, you have to sit in the bleachers or on the beach.
