We really enjoyed the indoor exhibit as well as the expansive outdoor spaces. My daughter got to go fishing for the first time ever in their pond!

We have family in SF and have never been here before, so this was a fun and new experience for us with our nieces. There is a nice indoor exhibit of play to explore areas, some beautiful monarch butterflies and small rainbow trout, 3 outdoor trails to walk freely and explore on your own (we found mulberries to eat!). The outdoor learning areas are great for a field trip, and they provide many opportunities for fishing and archery (sign up). The highlight for many kids are the 5 playgrounds in a circle surrounding the pavilion (large and covered for events and/or picnic lunch). A great place to go with your family and it's free...even better!

Unless there are activities going on, there's not much to do in here. There's the large fish that kids can walk through and that is featured in most of its promotional pictures and literature. In that same room, there are random activities for young kids--throwing hoops on antlers, going in a tent, sitting in a canoe and using an oar, etc. But, outside, there is a huge pavilion with dozens of picnic tables (think picnic lunch). The pavilion is surrounded by several play structures/systems (imagine 4-5 parks all right next to each other), from older structures to more modern ones. If a child gets tired at one, he can run to another. And, the pavilion is conveniently located so you can view children no matter which "park" they're at. There is also a large domed jungle gym (boys love it!) and a massive sundial.

We frequent this spot. We love the outdoors and the Outdoor Campus has a great walking path. We love it. They have classes you can sign up for, events and ITS FREE! We have gone as a couple, as a family and as a large community service group. We have always enjoyed our time here.
