Not sure how many are familiar with the Center outside of the Sioux Falls area but they are a very viable organization. Throughout the year they offer a variety of speakers, programs and events and they serve as a great research resource. Check out their web page and what they have to offer.

Great place for research. The exhibits are usually great too, and change often. The small gift shop offers some unique items. The staff is always very friendly and helpful.

The Center has a cool (though limited) museum. There is also a gallery featuring mostly Native works. While the center does look to capture the history of SD, it encompasses mainly Native history, so if that interests you it is worth stopping. Otherwise, you can pass.
