The South family established Strawbale Winery in 2006. constructed of straw bales, the buildings are insulated for a prairie-style wine cellar, and an atmosphere of country farm living. Treat your self to relaxation and fun. Tucked in a farm setting between a 100-year-old red barn and established shelter belt, the straw buildings, vineyard and animals may remind you of simpler times.

We saw a brochure so decided to check out the winery There isn't any kind of a tour just a wine tasting room You can taste 5 different wines for $6 and for an extra $2.50. You can keep the glass They have no food so eat something before you go

A pastoral pasture. Quiet and splendidly appointed. Great hosts and staff members. Beautiful setting for that special occasion or simply a quiet evening in the country.

Great place with many wine options. Wine slushies are amazing. Great Thursday and Sunday events for the whole family in the summer. Cute gift shop with a lot of fun gift items and canned food. Excited for my next visit.

My wife and I traveled to Sioux Falls, SD over the Thanksgiving weekend to visit my son and his wife. While we were there, we stopped at the Strawbale Winery located just north of Sioux Falls. The owners, Don and Susie, greeted us like long lost friends. We had a great time sampling their delicious wines and enjoying the coziness... More

It's a quiet place and local. The wines are south dakota made so sweet is expected. They have sangrias and live music. It's relaxing and a lazy way to spend a beautiful Sunday afternoon

We were travelling through Sioux Falls and I looked on trip advisor for things to do in the area. I stumbled across the winery and looked at their website. We were in town on a Thursday night which is the same night as the Summer Porch evenings. We arrived just after it started. The property is beautiful and the setup... More

Had such a good time here. Tried the wine tasting and the young lady helping us was so informative! Walked out with a bottle of cranberry jalapeno wine thay wasn't even on my list of wines to try but the lady knew it was good and got me to try it anyway!

We've visited Strawbale Winery a number of times and enjoyed each one! On a rainy Saturday, we hung out in the tasting room and were privileged to sample many new "creations" developed by the staff. A sunny Sunday found us attending a barbecue class. Thursday evening we hung out on the grounds enjoying music, kitties, and chickens - and wine,... More

If you are expecting California wines, this isn't the place. They do not make most of their wines from grapes, instead the use berries, etc. Many of their wines are pretty sweet but they have a large selection so something for everyone. We visited on a Thursday in June when they have their "Summer Nights" with live music, lawns games... More
