The South family established Strawbale Winery in 2006. constructed of straw bales, the buildings are insulated for a prairie-style wine cellar, and an atmosphere of country farm living. Treat your self to relaxation and fun. Tucked in a farm setting between a 100-year-old red barn and established shelter belt, the straw buildings, vineyard and animals may remind you of simpler times.

Great visit to a fun local spot full of SD flavor. Great welcoming staff and casual down home atmosphere. Love the chickens walking around. Get a glass and roam the grounds--it is like being at Grandma's with wine.

This is a decent stop if you are driving around the Sioux Falls area. One of the better wineries in this part of the state, but wine is not that memorable, it is more of a novelty to say that you had wine from South...More

We have been here numerous time...great wine and relaxing music. They have a wide variety of wines to sample and purchase. Live music on Sunday afternoons and Thursday nights. I would recommend you visit when you are in the area!
