Welcome to the Tinder Box Cigar Bar, Rapid City’s only Cigar bar. The Rapid City Tinder Box is located at 518 7th Street in the historic Buell Building (circa 1888), situated in the heart of downtown Rapid City. For visitors to Mt. Rushmore, the Black Hills, the Sturgis Bike Rally, or business visitors, we are the premium tobacconist in the area. Customer service is our number one goal, and our staff is eager and knowledgeable in helping you select cigars to fit your taste. Our premium cigar lines include Padron, Cohiba, Nat Sherman, Acid, Upmann, Romeo and Juliet, My Father’s, Brickhouse, Ashton, Flor de Selva, CAO and many more. In addition to carrying an extensive selection of high-quality hand-rolled cigars, we offer a full line of spirits such as bourbon, whiskey, cognac, and mixed drinks plus a great selection of fine wine, and beer. You will find Pipes and a large selection of Tinder Box Custom Blended Pipe Tobacco. Our retail area offers quality accessories and gifts.

While visiting Rapid City I learned of The Tinder Box and I went to have a nice cigar. The establishment met my expectations. There has a good selection of cigars at prices for every kind of consumer. The chairs were comfortable and it was quiet. A good place for contemplation and relaxation with a cigar. I wold recommend as it met my expectations.

This is an excellent place to sit, converse, read, enjoy a cigar or a pipe or a beer or glass of wine, people watch, and make a new friend. I did on my first visit.

Though I am a non-smoker, I always enjoy visiting the Tinder Box to buy special Xmas gifts for others. I really enjoy the smells inside this cozy store as it brings back childhood memories. Great little shop with a nice selection of cigars to meet everyone's tastes.

It's hard to believe a place like this exists in 2019. Sharply dressed, friendly staff and guests alike. At the same time, you are always welcome to "come as you are". Classy, elegant, and you can smoke fine tobacco with the enjoyment of knowing you're among pals. Exquisite decor, uplifting music, fabulous ventilation. One of my favorite spots in Rapid City.

While visiting the area I decided to check out the Tinder Box. I was camping and so I needed some cigars for the late night campfires. I must say, I've been to many cigar lounges, but none like this. Incredible atmosphere and very friendly staff. The selections were good also. If you like cigars, or even if you don't, do yourself a favor and stop here. Even if it's only for 5 minutes, you'll be so glad you did. Grab a cigar or two and head out, or stay for a drink and a smoke. What a fantastic place!!

Had time to kill so I stopped to check out Tinderbox. So glad I did. The bartender was great - nice conversation. The owner took the time to hand pick 3 cigars based on my likes and dislikes. Wonderful service. I will spread the word in Northern Montana about Tinderbox!

The Tinderbox has a great selection of cigars, whisky, wine, and some local craft beers. The air handling equipment makes the atmosphere quite pleasant. It is truly my favorite spot! People come to socialize, or just sit and read by themselves. Local treasure!
