I would have never thought to find a piece of the Cold War history tucked away in Rapid City. Having been in West Berlin and experienced the Berlin Wall in its heyday, this was a great opportunity to reflect back, especially given it is so close to the anniversary of the wall

Wonderful displays explaining the Berlin Wall and then the actual piece. Pretty amazing. Our daughter (13) knew nothing about the Berlin Wall. It was very enlightening to all of us. Definitely worth a stop.

So it's interesting that there are 2 pieces of the Berlin Wall in Rapid City. In the middle of a nice park with a couple of tank traps and some memorial plaques its worth a walk or drive over to check out.
