Lovely time!

We always enjoy going downtown to go skating in the winter & go through the fountains in the summer! If you're coming for summer, make sure and take the trolley through the city

Downtown Rapid City has some nice shopping, great restaurants and The Square! The square has ice skating in the winter and you can play in the water in the summer. Armadillo ice cream is nearby and a must! Summer nights has live music every Thursday evening with venders. I just love going here!

It is always enjoyable walking around downtown Rapid City as this area has changed significantly since my family moved there in 1964. The square with skating rink, the music on Friday nights, the eclectic shops (especially Who's Hobby and Prairie Edge Trading Company), the many restaurant options (several cuisines represented) and the walk among the US Presidents is interesting and... We had a great time visiting downtown Rapid City. We stayed at the Alex Johnson and enjoyed all the amenities offered (may be available to Hilton member only.) We enjoyed the Square where there is some good shopping, a coffee shop, and ice skating. We found many other shops in the downtown area as well as great restaurants and bars... More

We spent one evening walking around downtown Rapid City. There are several eateries with every price range. There is a park with a splash pad for the kids and grassy lounging area for adults. The night we were there they were showing a movie out doors. A very nice, inexpensive way to spend evening. LOVE LOVED it.

I know we all lament the loss of the classic small city center when traveling in the US that we enjoy so much in Europe. Somehow, Rapid City, SD, has managed to create a vibrant, fun, revitalized experience of the small American city at is best. The shops and restaurants are not only interesting, but eclectic enough to keep everyone... More

This is a much-revitalized little downtown with a lot of local arts/crafts, bakeries, and restaurants. I'd recommend staying here as a base for trips to Wind/Jewel Cave, Custer SP, Badlands, and Devil's Tower.

Lots of stores and tchotchke shops, super cute, lots of unique restaurants. I went during Christmas time and the lights were adorable! They brought the town to life!
