We were here from 27 Oct until 7 Nov 21. On the Adult only Lake Pitch 54. When arrived we were told where our pitch was, we asked if we could move to a different pitch? that was not on the corner and really windy , we were told no because all the pitches were full (1ST LIE they were not) I asked when I should pay my final payment some old woman sat at the table near to reception said no you might leave and forget to pay ? At the point of booking in we were not told that the pitch we were being put onto flooded all the time at the least amount of rain. After a heavy rain storm I called the reception and asked again if it was possible to move and could someone come to help because the pitch was flooded and we could not get into the MH shortly after a male person arrived and walked a round not knowing what to do. At this point there was a good 2/3 inches of water on the pitch except for a small high patch we he suggested moving forward about 3 foot which would of meant having to move the levellers and raise steady. ( we are both in our 70 and I am a disabled veteran) he said it had only flooded because of the heavy rain (2nd LIE It flooded again a couple of days later after fine rain) he then got 3 Slabs and placed them so we could get out of the MH. He then said he would go and have a look at a different pitch for us to move to 3rd Lie and Broken Promise not all of the pitches were until 5 Nov. One of the regulars came and parked near to us and he was told park anywhere you want. We were told by regulars that our pitch flooded all the time when it rains because the water runs down the hill and of the sloping road behind us. We spoke to the 3 times over the Phone and sent 2 emails asking for their help.WE DID NOT RECIEVE ANY REPLY EVEN THOUGH ONE OF THE MANAGERS DROVE PAST SEVERAL TIMES Please Avoid wasting your money at this place and being lied to seems to be the norm ?

Staff are very helpful and friendly. On site food very good. Sunday lunch a must. Quiet and generous pitches. Heard complaints of rats but they are water voles and very cute. They spend their time in the water other than picking up the dropped fishermen bait on the decked platforms. Fishing very good and varied. Carp, Tench, good Roach, Bream, small Chub and some very hard fighting Barbel and saw one at 4.5 lb. There was nothing not to like for our first outing in a caravan. Will go back as nothing is a problem to the staff.

We made a brief one night stay on a Wellington Lakeside pitch. It was very spacious and relaxing. My husband enjoyed the short time fishing but caught alot! Nice little cabin shop to browse around with a selection of essential items and antique/collectable/garden items to purchase. Although we did not eat in the cafe as we booked in we saw the Roast dinners coming out and looking very tempting! Clean showering facilities, if a little rustic. We will return.

Tips for staying here 😊 If you have an awning you will need rock pegs the ground is hard no pitching it on the grass is permitted. Don’t drive on the grass Pick up your doggie do even on the lower field (please) Your pitch includes a grassed area to the left hand side looking toward the lake on wellington view. All dogs to be on leads at all times, for there safety and others it’s all in the terms and conditions of the site. Tearooms are excellent Lots of beautiful walks all around the site. Enjoy the peace and tranquility and the wildlife The fishing is also very good so I’m told I don’t fish. Respect the rules 😊
