Let’s start with it a big world
Out here so Um be safe just so that condescending remark from hotel is out of the way.
Con’s size room is small, windows allow to much noise from street, 6 am trash service on street both days of stay and man they really were banging away to get them empty. Fridge had an encased freezer coil that had not been defrosted I guess since it was plugged in, non functioning / functioning tv day one it was a loose hdmi cable day two the picture just got blocky and the an error code I called front desk the got it fixed. Our toilet was running entire time. Tub looked dirty like it needed a good scrubbing. Room coffee maker is in bathroom underneath the sink just weird I guess I could have brought it to the fridge and swapped the plug but I wouldn’t want to destroy the iceburg inside. Keys that blank themselves if you place them next to anything, parking is tight in this whole town including the hotel lot which was chipped out of the base of a 800 foot rocky ledge looks like the retaining wall stops most of the rock slides I parked on the opposite street side.
Pros free breakfast with an automatic pancake robot, close to the action of downtown, price is king,
Summary if you are a light sleeper maybe this isn’t the place it’s sat morning at 645 I still can here the trash truck blocks away, car and motorcycles driving by hitting the expansion joint on the elevated road outside my window, the ice encrusted fridge running, water flowing in the broken toilet
This is not a boutique experience it is a form of pain due to sleep deprivation.
On the lighter side we are leaving soon and I won’t be thinking about deadwood again on my way back across the USA.

Horrible experience. Rooms were quite small and at this time NO room cleaning at all. We had to go to the front desk to even geta fresh towel. l Even at that the staff was not friendly. It seemed like we were infringing on their time on their phones just to get a darn towel. The casino is very small and dealers are rude. Run, don't walk away from this place.

We went to this supposedly sports book to enjoy March madness. It was also a celebration of ST. Patrick’s day during our time there. There was a multitude of screens to watch, but of all the screens available they only had one small screen that had a basketball game on it. There were many people around stating they should have more of the March madness games on instead of the show FRIENDS and movies, etc. why they would not have on the basketball games that people were betting on is beyond our comprehension, went to a worker to ask if she could change some of the channels and she replied by shouting really loudly (I am not going to do it because I’m to busy) asked if someone else could help and the reply was NO.
Walked out and never returned during the rest of the week. VERY RUDE

We played at this casino after eating at Mavericks. We liked that we got free play, and this was the only casino that we went to in Deadwood that we saw bubble craps. It seemed a little less “fun” than some of the other casinos. However, we still had a good time.

Dealers are very rude. Very high strung. It's hard to understand when in such an amazing place like South Dakota. Terrible experience. Makes South Dakota look bad. Mgt doesn't seem to care.

We usually stop at the Gold Rush while in Deadwood. This time was no exception. I stopped to get a new players card as it had been awhile since we were there. The young man working @ the players club desk was very uninterested in engaging with customer. I understand that it has been hard to get workers this year due to Covid, but please educate your staff on being polite and at least acting like they want to be there. Other than that the casino was nice and all other staff was very nice.

I hesitate to write this review because overall Deadwood has been great. We come here every year. The night of the Gold Dust Anniversary was the worst night I have ever spent in Deadwood. One of the waitress gals forget to bring my change for a bottle of beer, and I gave her a twenty. Mind you the money was not the imporatant part of this, but the principal was. I waited an appropriate amount of time in hopes the watiress would remember she forget to bring my change, maybe 15 mintues, then I went to the nearest manager I could find and told him. I waited another 15 mins to half hour for him to do something, and nothing got done. So I asked him again and this time he turned it over to the man who was in charge there, and handing out the money that people had won during the anniversary. By the time it got to him, I will admit I was getting a little impatient. I think this was an honest mistake by the waitress, and don't blame her, but the manager I talked to that night, yelled at me, and told me how busy he was, and this was after I had waited pretty close to 45 minutes to get my change. Needless to say that I don't need a manager talking to me who has the personality of a rattlesnake, and he threw me out. I am 77 years of age, and a Navy Veteran, been coming here for years, and this was the first time in my life that I had ever been thrown out of any place, and it wasn't even my fault. Rest assured I will be sure and tell all my friends about this, and I hope the upper management pays attention to it also. The manger threw out a combat veteran, with the Purple Heart, and he showed me the management abilities of a two year old.

Great visit to old west gambling town. Went to eat at another restaurant but it was packed with an hour wait. Ate at Maverick’s in the Gold Dust Casino. Good steak and garlic mashed potatoes. Great friendly service. Would recommend and/or as an alternative place to eat if you just can’t wait!

How do we get a players card? We are coming for my husband's birthday and the card looks like to would be beneficial after spending last weekend there.

Thanks so much for choosing the Gold Dust. Players Club Cards are free with a valid ID and are very rewarding. Simply ask for one at the Players Club right next to the Blackjack table area.
Happy birthday to your husband from the staff at the Gold Dust!
