Woody’s was fun, accommodating and offered lots of choices for costumes.
They were helpful with our dog who we wanted in the photos. They came out GREAT!
Our photographer was experienced to create diversions sour dog would be attentive.
While a bit pricy, they came out great and will make a Fabulous Christmas card!
Thank you…good memories!!

This was such a fun experience! We were in Deadwood for our yearly girl's weekend and decided to give this a try. Our photograph Aaron was so much fun and easy to interact with. He listened to our ideas too. Very clean, photos printed off within a couple of hours. Would highly recommend!

Located on the main street going through Deadwood. Very small sign marking the front of the shop, we drove by three times before we spotted it. It might not be as difficult to find if you were just walking by. The shop was small, very cramped, and cluttered with props. It was a weekday in August, and there was over an hour wait. So I would suggest making an appointment. You start by picking your scene, then someone will help you with adjustable clothing and props that go with the scene you chose. The clothes were showing wear and could use replacement of a few items. They take shots with several different poses. Next, you decide which photos you want to buy. You will need to wait about an hour to get your photos printed. An 11x14 photo is included with your photo shoot, but all other photos and frames are an additional charge. I was a little unhappy that they wouldn't honor the coupon that I found online and had pulled up on my phone...they said it had to be printed. If we decide to get old-time photos again, we'll probably check out the shop in Keystone instead.

I've wanted to do this with my family for a couple of years and visiting the wild west seemed like the perfect souvenir for me. It took some convincing, but I got my family in costumes and posed for an old time photo.

They took 4 shots and offered more. It was not busy at all when we were there - 7:00pm or so on a Monday night.

We selected our backdrop and a lady provided us with dresses, but was willing to change when my daughter hated the style of hers. It was quick and easy.

Our picture was ready in less than an hour and we picked it up no problem

$50 for sitting and 11X14 is steep to me when they are set up to run folks through so fast. Prints were much more expensive in the shop than on the reprint brochure that they gave us with our shot so I'm glad I didn't buy a whole bunch while we were there.

I never saw any pricing in writing. They tell you a price verbally when you walk in.That was the first bad first sign. Then I had a 15 percent coupon to use off my entire purchase, which a lady kept telling me a special they had going on for $48 a photo was much cheaper than using the coupon, but she could not explain the math. She let me use the coupon only toward the $30 frame instead of the entire $82 purchase for the photo and frame. But the saddest part of the whole affair is my photo is note even usable. After my daughter and I spent half the day waiting in line, changing clothes and posing for photos, then waiting two more hours to get the photo..... They wrapped it for transport on the airplane when I picked it up because we had to leave to catch our flight. So when I got it home and opened the photo and frame, I found a huge white blotch on my face.So now I'm several states away and out $82 for a framed photo I can't even use because it has a white blotch in the middle of it and looks terrible. Does this place not have any quality control? Or ethics? Why would you print an unusable photo, send it out the door and take people's money? Avoid this place like the plague!

Never did an Old Timey Photo before, so when we passed by, we thought why not! Learned it is the biggest Old Time Photo Studio in the country and the staff was very helpful when we were getting dressed and took the photo.

The staff is trained to tell you how to pose, but don't be afraid to ask to try a pose you want!

We spent a happy hour in Woody's photo shop dressing up as outlaws and having our photo taken. What a great way to keep a memory of a wonderful weekend in Deadwood SD.

Can thoroughly recommend this experience!

This was the one tourist thing I wanted to do on our family vacation this year and am so glad we did. It was so fun dressing up - even my husband got into it. You get to be someone you usually aren't! I did feel a little rushed but not too bad. We opted to have the photo mailed to us and when it arrived bent and damaged they sent a replacement no questions asked! Be prepared for sticker shock though!

We went in and asked about prices, we're a but on the spend side, but when it was all said and done it was totally worth it! They let you pick the background you want (and they have like 7 or 8), and then the type of "character" you want. The costume girl was friendly and very helpful, and the photographer was fantastic! She would tell us how to pose and would go along with anything that you wanted to do which actually got us our best picture! You can buy frames there and they have some cool ones but they are kinda spendy. All in all, it was a really cool experience and I would definitely do it again!

Found this place by accident online, and scheduled it as part of our vacation for our family to memorialize our trip to a cowboy city by playing dress-up like cowboys. Used to do photos in a studio with full blown wardrobe for others for a living, so I could appreciate the attention to detail. Professional settings and equipment. They did an excellent job in quickly dressing all of us in attire that went perfectly with our personalities and then doing the photo shoot. It didn't take long at all, and I came away impressed. I'm glad we did it. It was a fraction of what somebody would have had to pay in my studio, so you should totally go for it.
