Unfortunately I accused Boot Hill tours of being 1950s misogynists, when it was Mike,of Alkali Tours, who is.Buddy, you need to understand sexism and misogyny or you will NEVER get millennial women to come on your tours. You told us multiple times how ugly Jane Canary was,you compared the women on the bus,who were ok,to Jane. You commented on how your children were conceived, which is not only not funny, but is embarrassing. You spoke about your Christianity when I was on a history tour, not Sunday School. Guess what, not everybody is an old white,Christian! Then you insulted my beautiful home state of California, and the stupendous Yosemite National Park. You claimed people in California raised money for the cougar, who killed a woman, and not the dead women's family, how horrible.I doubt that is even true, but Yosemite is visited by millions of people, from all over the world and the USA. If you were insinuating California liberals only care about animals, you are very wrong. California is home to 40 million people, many who bring lots of tourist dollars to Deadwood.Maybe you shouldn't insult 40 million people.Next time I talk to your close friend,(namedropper) Kevin Costner,(a California boy)I will tell him how you despise California. Most of all I apologize to Boot Hill Tours, for accusing them of being sexist.

This one bus tour is a must. Mike is a great guide his information and humor make the tour. The bus is air conditioned which is great. Just love this tour we have taken it a couple time and will Do it again. The prices are fair. Great for all ages.

We would have to give two ratings for this tour, one for our tour guide Mike and one for the air conditioning on the bus. Our tour guide Mike was excellent and gave us a wonderful history and tour of Deadwood. We give him a 5. He is a very friendly, humorous, and knowledgeable tour guide. One of the reasons we selected Alkali Ike Tours was because they had the only air conditioned bus out of all the Deadwood tour groups in town. Unfortunately, we were in Deadwood on a very very hot day. It was 94 degrees and the air conditioning on his bus could not keep up with the heat. Because we couldn’t open the windows, it made for a very hot uncomfortable ride during the tour. Thus, I give this tour a 4. I highly recommend Mike and this tour and I am sure the air conditioning will be repaired in the future.

Mike the tour bus driver and tour guide is very friendly and obviously loves Deadwood and the surrounding area. He grew up in Sturgis and seems to know everyone in town. We enjoyed visiting the historic cemetery and hearing the history of the cemetery. However the majority of the tour of Main St was mainly Mike's personal advertisement of the shopping, casinos and restaurants on Main St. Very little history in my opinion. We chose this tour mainly because they have an actual tour bus (it was very comfortable). The other tour operators use old school buses.

We understand all the town tours take the same route and stops, so what distinguishes one from another is the guide. Our guide is the husband of the tour owner and clearly loves the town and doing tours. In his words, other tours say an hour bit give you 50 min. He says an hour and give you 75-80 min. Prices were reasonable with discounts available for seniors, AAA, and military. No credit cards; would take cash or check. The guide was very knowledgeable about the town and it’s history; he offered his personal take on some items and infused humor (some pretty corny) throughout the tour. A nice way to learn the town’s history and get a ride into the cemetery (only tour buses can drive into the cemetery; otherwise, you have to walk).
