We took the advice of the reviews and walked up to the monument. It was an easy walk and the views are amazing. Picnic tables available if that's something you would like to do.

We parked in the Turnaround after coming the dirt road. Easy to find, just across from the Tatanka entrance and then follow the signs. About 1 mile on the trail to the Left, with great views, uphill going so rest like we did. At the...More

First off, it's just up the road from the Lodge Deadwood on US85. The you drive up the road until you make a right hand turn onto a washboard dirt road and drive about 2 miles to the end. Then you have a nice gravel...More

This monument carries a great story. It was simple. That adds to the story. Great views, but a little weedy. It was remote, so there wasn't a ton of people either. Requires a small hike, but very doable. It's a hidden treasure for history buffs.

I went up there and hiked the trail to the tower and when I went up there in the tower the view was spectacular and the scenery was very picturesque.

Good hike, great views, and an interesting structure. Not much to do other than to see the monument itself (no other trails, etc.), so it turned out to be a nice, quick stop to walk a bit and see this tribute from Seth Bullock to...More

We loved our hike to Roosevelt Monument. As we toured the area it was great to see more about this monument and were glad to have found it. Beautiful views, too.

We have been there two separate times. You can picnic there because there are benches there. The hike is not a very long or strenuous one, but it is very interesting there and the views are amazing. We spent about an hour... More
