Fun- One day is enough

Worth the stop- not really for kids. The stores are geared to the motor cycle travelers. There are some good places to eat and drinks are very reasonable.

Strolling along the Main street you get a good feel for Historic Deadwood. Lots of places to duck into and shop around or get some history.

A must visit to check out the historical places which would be a one day trip if you don't gamble. This is a neat little town which probably wouldn't be there without the gabbling. They gave some historical plays and Wild Bill gets shot all over again each night. Lots of souvenir stores and close to Sturgess and 59 miles... More

if you are a fan of the old west, it's a great place to think about those who have walked the streets long ago. Of course, everything is modern with an old west motif, so there are gaming places, shops, saloons and even old west reenactments, which I loved. We had a blast in the early evening. Once the sun... Love Deadwood been comming here for many years. Beautiful views, and downtown gun fights are great and full of history. The Wild Bill reinactment at the #10 is a must see.

Shops from t shirts to jewelry, biker bars to the bar where wild bill was shot, and numerous casinos. Numerous places claiming to be associated with wild Bill Hickok, even though he was only in town for 2 1/2 weeks before he was shot. It's worth a stop.

We departed Sundance and headed for the historic old town of Deadwood, which had been recommended to us by a number of friends. We were not disappointed. The town was very busy with tourists, a there is many saloons and gift shops to explore. We then visited Mt Moriah Cementary to visit the graves of Bill Hickok and Calamity Jane,... More

Got a real feel for the old west. Lots of history. Re-enactment going on all afternoon with a show in the evening.

It is the week after Sturgis. There is a lot of Harley merchandise and motorcycle themed stuff, which is fine, but is it always like this ?? I enjoyed the History and the stories that went on here in the 1800's and searching for more of the things that happened then. It's defiantly touristy but I think that's part of... More
