We spent a few hours visiting the Town of Deadwood because we'd heard so much about it what a historic place this was. After all, Wild Bill Hickok and Calamity Jane were regulars here so if you're in the area, you figure it's a must see. We were glad we went but it's a bit touristy, which we're not into, plus being 2020, year of the Covid caused issues with wanting to go into many of the establishments. However, we found that while Deadwood does have history, it's still alot of shops, restaurants, saloons and tourists. We did visit Saloon #10 as this is where Bill Hickok was shot. The chair he was sitting in is forever in Saloon #10 stationed above the front door, inside, with recognition. We had a drink inside and thought we'd stay for the shootout reinactment. The character playing Wild Bill did a great job, but he was telling his life story on stage which got a bit too long and we left before the "shootout" took place. We walked around, went to the Days of 76 Museum (which was great) and then headed back to our RV park. If you're in the area, it's a nice stop in as there are lots of other very cool things nearby such as Spearfish Canyon, Friendship Tower, D.C. Fish Hatchery and the museum.

We have had lunch several times in the past - years ago & it was always good. HOWEVER lunch this week was terrible. We waited over 1/2 hour for very small hamburgers which were burned. Mine was burned so badly it tasted like charcoal. I wanted to send it back, but I didn't have time to wait another half hour. The french fries were so spicy I couldn't eat them. Burgers were $18 each. The next day were had a huge buffet dinner down the street for $23 each - what a bargain.
The re-enactment of the shooting of Wild Bill Hickok is very interesting & fun to watch. The drinks are reasonably priced. It is worth going into the saloon just to see it, & if you have time to see a show or two, they are interesting & enjoyable, but I wouldn't advise you to eat there. We have been to Deadwood several times & always go to Saloon 10.

Decent "bar food" and cold beer. A walk through history if you are into the early western fromteer. A reenactment of the famous shooting of Wild Bill is entertaining. A gift shop and comfortable chairs to please all members of the family.

Stopped into Saloon #10 to have a drink and got to watch a great show and story of how Wild Bill lived and was killed. The two men who played Wild Bill and Jack McCall did an outstanding job of taking you back in time to a era where life was tough and you needed to be tougher. I got to sit in on the card game as one of the participants and it was a blast. It is a great show for historians and families with kids. The actors stuck around after the show to take pictures with anyone who wanted a picture and they did a wonderful job of including any kids in the room. Thumbs up all the way around for Saloon #10!

We ordered the nachos here. They were great. This is also where they do the reenactment of Wild Bill's death. This takes about 45 minutes, so my suggestion is grab a table near the action and order some food. It's delicious!

Fantastic atmosphere, love all the different people coming together. Bachelorette and bachelor parties, cowboys, bikers and thirsty tourists, a wonderful representation of people from all over. Bar is always packed and the bartenders are the most talented group that I have ever seen. The service is fast and those girls are hustling! Live band was great! Our ticket said Charlie was our bartender and she has ultimately mastered bartending to an art. I have never seen such a skilled server her ability to multi task was a marvel to witness. I hope the business recognizes the skill and talent of its employees!

This is the old place where Wild Bill Hickock was shot. It’s a casino, bar and upstairs is a nice restaurant. The bartender was not that friendly but she was the only one behind the bar. They have nice slot’s and a few blackjack tables. They do re-enactments of the shooting of Wild Bill. Pretty cool! They even still have the sawdust on the flor.

While on an anniversary trip to Deadwood, my husband & checked out the historic downtown strip. Before we knew the history of Saloon 10 we were drawn by it's "back home" feels to it. There is sawdust on the floor yet it's clean and homey. Fire place and area to sit and chat with friends, good food, single barrel Jack Daniel's Manhattan's which were amazing, a gift shop, & a few slot machines to boot! It's said this is where Wild Bill Hickock was shot during a game of cards and his "death chair" is displayed above the door. We visited this saloon a few times as it seemed I was drawn in & saw new stuff each time, checking out all the old photos, etc. Loved stepping back in time to make new memories.

Both son and I had a pasta dinners. Both meals were one of the most mediocre, over-priced meals we have experienced. We are experienced travelers and fine diners. Son had pasta with pheasant, and I had tortellini. The dishes must have been cooked with absolutely no seasoning, including salt. Completely bland. Olive Garden or a local pizza joint makes better pasta. Don't waste your money.
