This is a must see place for all Little House on the Prairie fans. 1800's homestead of the Ingalls family. Visit all of the buildings and exhibits. Take a wagon trip to the old school.

We went primarily for our (20 year old!) daughter who had been a big fan of the books as a young girl. The tour was enjoyable with plenty to do to keep a family busy for half a day or so. Only half a mile...More

What a great place to take your family. You get to step back in time and visit a place that is set up as a glimmer of the past. The staff was excellent; friendly, helpful and very informative. They encourage questions and interaction. My kids...More

I couldn't even begin to say how much this was enjoyed by everyone in my family--the teen and the three year-old! There are so many cool things to see and do. It's a very hands-on experience that I am so happy we chose to do!!

We visited on a cold, drizzly day. The lady in the shop was wonderful and greeted us like old friends. We watched the short film and explored the shop and my kids were delighted at the little sign that told them they absolutely COULD touch...More

This location is the actual land homesteaded by Pa Ingalls. The buildings I felt were excellent recreations. Sod house--oh yeah! The hands-on activities and excellent staff make this a five-star experience. The 10 and 11-year-old with us did not want to leave, begging to come...More

This is a living farm on the actual land that the Ingalls Family claimed and is amazing. There is a reproduction of the original house in what they believe to be the original location. Barn has been recreated and well is where it was. Great...More

We found this activity listed on the "South Dakota Adventure Map" at the welcome center on the highway, and decided to take a detour -- so glad we did! Seeing the buildings, artifacts, and setting really made the books we'd read come alive. We took...More

Pulling up to this place, it seems a bit unassuming, but once you get started, you can't help but have fun and immerse yourself in the experiences to be had here. This isn't a museum where they tell you to look, but don't touch. Here,...More
